It’s an interesting field for speculation - what might have happened if the Cities on the Plain had been politically organized along modern lines.

Perhaps they would have published a newspaper with endless editorials about equal rights; perhaps they would have appointed and paid an Office of the Psychologist General which would have done its best to convince everyone that anything and everything was “normal.”

Possibly they would have agitated in the name of Democracy, doing their level best to conflate the words, “All men are created equal,” with, “All men are the same.”

The end result, of course, would have been just as written in history, since you may come to control significant segments of society, the media, and the legislature, but, try as you might, you can’t bullshit the Celestial Home.

The pisser is that we’re ALL going down with the ship.

Yep, because there’s a reality out there that could care less what we believe, and it’s brutal. It’s not swayed by majority votes, the media, or ivy hall musings. It just is, and the more we move away from natural law, the worse things will get.

The concept of “all men are created equal” has been replaced by “all orifices are created equal”.
