Issa adjourned for obvious reasons, but also wanted to adjourn before democrats could do what Cummings did. The dems have been vicious in these hearings.

I don’t know what else he could have done - unless he held the contempt hearing right then (not sure on procedures). He may have known that Cummings was agitated before the hearing started.

Keep in mind Cummings was named in ethics charges on this very issue. He sent 3 letters to Catherine Engelbrecht and she filed a complaint.

Gowdy knows how to get Lerner to talk...

I hope somebody knows how to get them to talk. Holding them in contempt is a good start, but it’s pretty toothless. Wasn’t Holder found in contempt? And did it affect him in any way or get him to turn over the documents? Not that I recall.

They need a Special Prosecutor, but I believe such a person would have to be appointed by ... Holder. So I don’t know what hope there is of that.
