After you take the 5th, what can legally be done to compel getting the answers?

Just formal contempt charges as far as I know.

She's up to ten takes of the 5th. Issa adjourns since Lerner won't answer and leaves Cummings babbling.

He can give her immunity.

Issa and the rest of the GOP electile dysfunction crew look like such idiots in this.

Looking back at Senator Sam Ervin and Congressman Peter Rodino - there were two politicians who set out to take down a guy who just won a national election with 520 electoral votes and 60.7% of the popular vote.

They understood the need to try the case in the court of public opinion - with a jury that started out heavily against them.

Obama after 2012 was much, MUCH less popular than Nixon in 1972, and yet his opponents were methodical, they were determined, and most importantly, THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH AND WHAT WAS NECESSARY TO REACH THE GOAL.

Issa and the rest of his crew are like teenaged boys passing around a dirty magazine. They have no long-term objective, no strategy, and no ability to plead their non-case to the public.

With a Republican Sam Ervin and a Republican Peter Rodino, this nightmare would already be over.
