Obamacare's Newest Delay and GOP's Slumber

Yes, it appears that President Obama is gearing up to twist Obamacare like Gumby yet again.

Fox News reports:

The latest delay, expected to be announced as early as next week, would allow insurers to continue selling insurance plans that would otherwise be banned under the law. Fox News has confirmed the extension, first reported by The Hill.

It is unclear how long the extension will be, though one unidentified source told the Hill it could last to the end of Obama's second term, and possibly beyond.

The extension would ease pressure on Democratic candidates in the midterm elections by avoiding another wave of health policy cancellations expected this fall.

Reminder to Republicans--You don't win on this issue until you deprive the Left of the "Republicans have no clear alternative" talking point. I have no idea what you're waiting for, but I promise you that the lack of a concise, specific, user-friendly, agreed-upon Obamacare alternative will hurt you big time come 2016.

Wake up, GOP. Yet again.

Is there any political party more lifeless than the current GOPe? If they ever get fired from Congress, they should be employed demonstrating Tempurpedic mattresses.

“The reults from Texas yesterday are none too encouraging.”

10% of Republicans voted. Unbelievable statistic when so much is at stake.

Movies and TV shows like The Walking Dead show that even the lifeless have a lot more fight in them than the GOPe.

Last October, Obama vindictively shut down the federal government upon his having refused to delay ObamaCare, which of course is exactly what he himself lawlessly did on February 10, 2014!

Wake up gOp! You're worse than useless!

90% of republicans must like the evil domination and horrible economic situation that exists today. I expected MORE out of Texas.

The GOP doesn't have to present an alternative version of universal healthcare (Obamacare.) The Dems will tear it apart and the focus will shift to the proposed Rep version rather than Obamacare.

Developing an alternative will require bipartisan support and a lengthy, rigorous debate through the legislative process--not ramming it down the throat of the American people. I doubt there is a GOP consensus on an alternative save some basic principles.

The Dems are the ones demanding the alternative. The Reps shouldn't fall for it.

Realistically, there are only 2 things they can do.

1) Impeach him
2) Shut off the money (which will shut down the government)

The media has them deathly afraid to go near either one.

Impeach him

What aren't GOP Senator wanna-be's running on retaking the Senate and immediately working with the House and commencing the IMPEACHMENT on Jan 3, 2015?

GET IT IN THE NEWS AND MAYBE THE SLUMBERING AMERICANS WILL PAY ATTENTION!!

I think the reason for the GOP leadership’s inexplicable lack of effective opposition to Obamacare is that the corporatist donor base has told them they are transitioning out of the employee healthcare business. And the corporatists insist the government provide cover for this. So the GOP establishment apparently believes the win-win strategy is token opposition to ACA while permitting its continuing implementation.

A TV newscaster pointed out that in spite of 50 HOR votes against Obamacare, the only changes have been the ones by Obama.

The only change that would've mattered would have been to defund it. Only conclusion....the 'pubs still want Obamacare, but in a form in which their cronies profit.

I think you have spotted what is wrong with the District of Corruption and to all you naysayers that argue the TWO parties are world's apart - this is all the evidence one needs. THE GOP HOUSE CONTROLS THE PURSE STRINGS AND WH CLOWN CANNOT SPEND ONE CENT THE HOUSE DOES NOT APPROPRIATE.

The GOP does not have the "will" to buck the first white/black President and surly not their financial backers.
