17-year-old arrested in Greenwood murder (Seattle, WA)

Seattle police say the 17-year-old suspect in the shooting death of a man in the Greenwood neighborhood has been taken into custody.

Police say the teen was getting ready to board a plane at SeaTac airport. He was taken into custody by the Port of Seattle police.

KING 5 has learned the 17-year-old is Byron White, a senior at Ballard High School.

“I was shocked to hear how young he is,” said Susan Zielinski.

Zielinski thinks it is same person who robbed her bar right before the shooting last Sunday night. The local pub is just a few blocks from where David Peterson was killed.

"I was very happy, very relieved, good to get him off the street,” she said.

Friday afternoon, police executed a search warrant at a house on 4th Avenue NW in the Greenwood/Crown Hill neighborhood, not far from where the body of Peterson was found.

Neighbors say they were stunned when the SWAT team showed up on their street.

"My daughter was like, mom, it's several SWAT people, you should see the guns, there are forensic guys with gloves," said Robin Weese.

One neighbor heard officers ordering anyone inside the home to come out and surrender to police.

"The police were on the megaphone, asking people to come out of the house," said Priya Pugh. "It took awhile, but one guy came first, and then a girl came out."

Those two people were briefly taken into custody, but released once police were done searching the home.

KING 5 spoke to one of them, who told us he lives at the home and his 18-year-old nephew sometimes stays there. The man said police came to their house the night after Peterson's death, asking questions. He says he believed they were looking for one of his nephew's friends.

Police sources say that after the murder, the suspect ran to a friend's house, the same house where police served the search warrant Friday.

Peterson had gone for his daily walk in Greenwood last Sunday night. Later that evening, police officers found Peterson dead from a single gunshot wound, after he called 911 to report he had been robbed.

The suspect is known to be a transient, living from place to place. Police sources say he is the shooter and they are confident he will be charged as an adult.

There are no other suspects in the murder. The case remains an active and on-going investigation.

I sit amazed at the ability of the dead man’s wife and sister to “forgive” this thug.
And I am left wondering how long the country is going to allow this lawlessness to continue on the part of Black youth. Here we are with continuing pressure on honest citizens by the government to give up our 2A rights “in the name of safety and security,” while we have these feral animals roaming our streets. The only thing that might have saved this man’s precious life, would have been if he had been armed.

“I sit amazed at the ability of the dead man’s wife and sister to “forgive” this thug.”

Well, our civilization has been forgiving itself into extinction for quite some time.

Consider it a credit to prior generations of hard men and women. The kind of people that defended their lives, families, and homes with whatever force was necessary. The kind of people that policed their communities and refused to stomach the company of feral predators, four-legged or two-legged.

It was those men and women that built a future so safe, secure, prosperous and insulated from reality that future generations could live into adulthood clinging to childish and irrational beliefs. The wolves are scratching at the door though, and it’s pretty difficult to beat them off with “forgiveness”.

Absurdly pacifistic misinterpretations of theology and childish utopian idealism can only exist so long as rough men and women stand ready to do violence to any that would harm the pacifists and idealists.

And I am left wondering how long the country is going to allow this lawlessness to continue on the part of Black youth.

I don't know, but I suspect it will go on as long as there are still white people left alive. That's how long. While I do not think the government dirt bags lie awake at night, hoping more white people will get killed, I don't think they lose any sleep over it either. But then again, maybe they do lie awake nights. Who knows? Face it. The government is never going to allow white people to push back against the feral scum bags among us.

I noticed that on nearly all news sites concerning anything negative about certain people that the comments are nearly always turned off.

Between the two articles, only ONE comment so far?

Just look at that comment:

So very sad. A man has lost his life from a senseless shooting. Another man will likely lose his young life to prison. All of this loss just for a cell phone. My heart goes out to everyone involved. A true tragedy.

< moral equivalence>

His desire for cell phone ownership might cause poor Byron White to spend years of his precious life in prison! That would be a tragedy almost as tragic as poor David Peterson's death! Fortunately, we can avoid the second tragedy by dropping all charges against Byron White. The tragedies must end now!

That, sir, is the money comment! The blood of patriots (i.e. rough men and women) has been spilled in order to let these bed wetters “cry about” and “pray for” the “misunderstood scum” who are the antithesis of decency. For peet’s sake, if you are going to pray for something, pray for the lives of the decent and the deaths of those who do us harm. I want to puke when I read here that someone “is praying” for a murderer.

A KING 5 reporter spoke to Byron White’s mother

“Byron was not homeless. He came from a two parent background. He was a good student and a respectful student,” Yvette Watkins said. “We gave him all that he needed.”

“During the last four to five months he took a turn for the worse. He started missing classes and I was worried about it,” she added. “I tried to steer him in the right direction.”

“A piece of my heart has been snatched out of my chest.”

White is suspected of being the gunman in the murder, sources said. But there were believed to have been two others there that night of the slaying.

Just before Peterson’s murder and robbery of his cellphone, the three suspects stole money from the Baranof restaurant nearby, at 8549 Greenwood Ave. N., and tried to rob another guy on Greenwood, police said.

Dispatchers got a 911 call just before 9 p.m. Sunday from Peterson as he was being robbed at North 85th Street and First Avenue Northwest.

The shooting suspect was described as a black man, about 5-foot-10, thin, 20 to 30 years old, and wearing a North Face jacket.

The other two were described as a black man, about 5-foot-5, and a white woman with straight, “mousey” hair — drab, pale brown coloring.

Normally, that would not surprise me in the least. But because this "thing" (murderers and the such lose their standing as human beings in my eyes) had the intelligence to get on an airplane to make a real get-away, I was thinking that that was not the case.
