(CNSNews.com) -- At a meeting of Tea Party conservatives in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, conservative talk radio host Mark Levin said President Barack Obama “doesn’t have the constitutional authority to do half of what he’s doing,” and added that the “Republican leadership” has not taken any steps to stop Obama's unconstitutional actions.
CNSNews.com asked Levin, “Do you believe Obama has the constitutional authority to address climate change or minimum wage without congressional approval?”
Levin said, “Of course not. He doesn’t have the constitutional authority to do half of what he’s doing.”
“But nobody appears to want to stop him,” said Levin. “Has the Republican leadership taken any steps whatsoever? No."
"It’s about time when the Supreme Court gets a chance it steps up too," he said. "But, so far it’s given him power he doesn’t have under the Constitution on the health care law; it’s given him power he doesn’t have under the immigration law; it’s given him power he doesn’t have under DOMA [Defense of Marriage Act]. So the Supreme Court looks like it’s willing to go along with this.”

I used to believe that, but lately it's dawned on me they don't even care if they're in charge or not, so long as they can maintain the perks of their offices. The Limos, the parties, the legal graft and being feted by fetid celebrities and hangers on. IOW, their sinecures.
The Rats have bribed the GOPe, and they went pretty damned cheap.

Thank you for referencing that article jazusamo. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at Levin and not at you.
I’m not a fan of Levin. This is because I’m very suspicious of “conservatives” like Levin who don’t reference specific constitutional clauses when they complain about Obama & Congress.
That said, I woudn’t be surprised if Levin didn’t mention Congress’s constitutional Section 8, Article I-limited powers, or that many of Obama’s executive orders don’t have the force of law because the Constitution’s Section 1 of Article I clarifies that all federal legislative powers are vested in Congress, not in the executive and judicial branches.
Corrections about what Levin said are welcome.
Hmm, my belief is that we've had, as others have called it, a soft revolution and are no longer a functionally Constitutional based Representative Republic. Therefore, since the head of state is governing outside the Constitution, I believe we are then entitled to also use measures to remove him that are outside the Constitution!!! There is no need for the House to impeach and the Senate to convict. The illegitimate occupier of the oval office needs to be grabbed by the seat of his pants and the scruff of his neck and frog marched to the nearest federal prison holding cell to await his trial by a citizen's tribunal!

Humans have evolved to be relatively satisfied if they have food, shelter and company. They won't do anything too risky if they feel secure in these things.
I don't know about Egypt. But in Ukraine, my country, many people are nearly starving and freezing. Especially in cities/suburbs where you can't grow food or burn wood. Moving is usually too expensive for most people.
Land/shelter costs almost nothing there but everything else is just as expensive as in the USA. For example, a family might earn $200/month and that is only enough to eat mostly potatoes and heat their home to 55 degrees. One parent loses a job and that family is suddenly starving and cold. They have no option but to take to the streets.
When the majority of people are as cold and hungry in the USA, the same will happen here.
Yeah? Wake me when the rest of conservatives come to that realization.
What’s that saying about judging when it’s time to revolt? Something about grabbing your gun and running outside to see if your neighbors are doing the same? I forget. Anyway, every single I get mad as hell and am not gonna take it anymore, I run outside with my gun to find my neighbors mowing lawns and planting flowers or some other such mood killer. Heh.
Yes, we the people must work to return the states to the senate. Our Framers didn't rely on, as per Madison, “parchment barriers.” Their freedom enhancing design relied first and foremost on federalism, the vertical separation of power between the states and the federal government they created. Until the senate is de-democratized, raw power will continue to accumulate in the executive and judicial branches.
However, the Constitution is not self-executing. Ultimately we the people must enforce it. If we lack standing in the courts, and if Congress allows itself to become superfluous, there is still the Second Amendment.
I said when he was just a candidate that if he were elected he had no intention of serving only two terms. I have seen nothing yet, that dissuades me of that opinion.
The D.C. brotherhood is doing just fine thank you.

Sadly you’re right and the very few who speak out are on the hit list of their own party.
Another good reason to move the Congresscritters to their respective States. Move them to their home district where they can be cognizant of the effects of their actions on the people. Do not put them in the State Capitol. keep them away from lobbyists and other arm twisters. We have today, the electronic means of doing business from anywhere in the Country. Move it away from the DC party circuit, make them conduct their duties in front of the PEOPLE who hired them to do their jobs. A thousand disgruntled constituents outside the door is a lot more effective than ten thousand unread e-mails, or some lobbyist promising tons of payola.
