With all due disrespect to zero, we have no business propping up the tire burning crowd over there. We have more problems here than are being addressed now.
How come we're hearing nothing anymore about how things got out of control when the demonstrators killed troops during a truce?
“With all due disrespect to zero, we have no business propping up the tire burning crowd over there. We have more problems here than are being addressed now.”
What about the 1994 agreement? I agree with you that this would normally not be our business. However, we did sign an agreement with them. It is a sticky situation I know. The fact that we no longer have any credibility is bad enough. The fact that we will not, or can not, honor our agreements is even worse.
Also, we haven’t even had time to figure out the overall situation over there; who is who, etc.
“We have more problems here than are being addressed now.”
From a world power to a laughing stock in under 6 years.
I think the best deal would be Russia agrees to allow Ukraine to join the EU and NATO in exchange for getting Crimea and Donetsk region.
If I were the Ukrainians, I make that deal in a heartbeat.
Crimea legitimately should belong to Russia, it was only a drunken, impulsive decision by Khrushchev, back in the days when it really didn’t matter which Soviet Socialist Republic it belonged to.
EIther way, it’s none of our business, and we should let events take their course.
