Sen. Cruz won't endorse Cornyn in Texas GOP race

WASHINGTON (AP) — The sniping between establishment Republicans and tea partyers resumed Thursday as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz refused to endorse his state's senior senator in next week's Republican primary.

Sen. John Cornyn, the Senate's second-ranking Republican leader, faces tea party-backed Rep. Steve Stockman in Tuesday's election. Cruz declined to tell reporters how he plans to vote

"I am not supporting any of the senators from my party or their opponents" in this year's primaries, Cruz said, adding that he might change his mind later.

Cruz, a tea party favorite and potential 2016 presidential candidate, has infuriated fellow Republicans by forcing uncomfortable votes on issues such as the debt, and by raising money for conservative groups trying to defeat veteran Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

Cruz's comments are especially notable because he is a vice chairman of the GOP committee tasked with winning Senate elections. He criticized the committee's track record and policy of virtually always backing incumbents.

I was out of state on business this week and wasn’t paying attention to the race, but it looking better Cornyn’s going to get primaried thanks to Chris Mapp. And Stockman’s robocalls against Cornyn seem to be working, too. It all depends on turnout.

The 'team' doesn't elect Cruz. Me an hundreds of thousands like me do. He's not going anywhere.

That plays well in Texas and thank God for it. But although I would overwhelmingly support a Cruz Presidential run, I think he's been demonized too completely on the national scale as an extremist to be elected to the top job. The single exception would be if the nation realized that in order to regain some semblance of normality we needed a POTUS that will go as far right as Obozo was left.

That would drag the country right back to a position of being center-right, exactly the status quo ante and the place where our country is most prosperous, economically. We'll get there IF we can elect a good conservative who will immediately kill all the regulations the RATs have imposed on the energy industry and put folks back to work while dropping the price of gas to about $1.50 a gallon.

It is hard to know the real feelings because Daily Show and MSNBC are the only ones doing the reporting. They want Cornyn to win.

"Did Cornyn vote for Cruz when he was elected?"

Cornyn CAMPAIGNED for Cruz. This is how Cruz repays that.

Sen. John Cornyn appeared with Ted Cruz in Austin in October 2012 when Cruz was running for the Senate.

From article: Ted Cruz refuses to endorse fellow Sen. John Cornyn in GOP primary

I like what I have seen and heard from him. I just hope he doesn’t add to the imbroglio concerning POTUSA eligibility. Obama has done to much of such as to his eligibility. I have hopes and tend to believe that before Obama’s term is up his and his enablers hoax will be given light and I don’t want the light dimmed.

Your definition of what a "Conservative" is and mine are obviously different. Cruz will not endorse the RINO Cornyn. PERIOD! Why? Because Cornyn is a RINO. A harry reid boot licker. An establishment "republican". NOT a "Conservative." Here in Texas there are several candidates running for Cornyn's seat EVERY candidate is claiming to be a "Conservative." It's ridiculous. Only one or two may be "Conservative" the rest know that they are toast if they cannot convince the weak minded that they are Conservative.

You ask why Cruz won't endorse boot lickers? Where were the boot lickers when Cruz was fighting like crazy to win his seat in the Seat? I'll tell you. They were fighting just as hard to defeat him. He remembers and so do we. ;-)

Cornyn was a "johnny come lately" when it came to supporting Cruz. When he knew that his and the "establishment republicans" in the State of Texas were losing Cornyn, like the true chameleon (cold blooded reptile) he is, made it appear as though he was a supporter. Smart people can see through his charade and we can read his voting record. We know that cornyn is simply a harry reid yes man and so does Cruz. Cornyn reminds me of the Gov. in the movie "Oh brother where art thou?" A real piece of crap.
