Feb 27, 2014
By BOB CHRISTIE
PHOENIX (AP) - Republican Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer slapped down the right wing of her own party, vetoing a bill pushed by social conservatives that would have allowed people with sincerely held religious beliefs to refuse to serve gays.

I would say “Jan who?”, but nobody is currently standing up.
Nobody.
Anywhere.
Listening to, and acting on .. wise council
Brewer easily could have worked with this legislation while it was being crafted so as to address the outrageous example of the baker who went out of business.... instead she just vetoed the whole thing.....she will not get re elected cause democrats still wont vote for her
jan with her veto said, No, you do not have the right to say No! Guess again, jan!
Agree, I bet she loses the next election. She chose to protect a deviant and unhealthy life style over religious freedom which is protected by the constitution. The inmates have taken over the asylum.
This certainly does seem to “excite” the AP
That's just silly. She won't get reelected because she's term-limited.
See post #9.
The AP is “Hogwash”!!! The lie prone Obamabots are throwing anything they can on the wall...hoping it sticks!!! Same routine with Christie!!! I don’t like Christie...but...most people could care less about a bridge lane closing. Democrat, low life media is wasting their time!!!
There's nothing in it specifically homosexual, but it is being touted as an anti queer bill.
I really don't know how that all happened, but Governor Brewer has dodged a ball thrown by the "confuse 'em with words so we can litigate against 'em later" crowd
The right is always responding to the left and not leading.
Any store sued by gays they are forced to serve needs to advertize this an shame the gay couple, boycott companies they work for and handle this outside the courts and laws.
We have enough friggen laws.
Attorneys everywhere say a hearty *Thank You, jan*
queers are already a shameful people by the fact they perform shameful acts ... they can’t be shamed.
” She won’t get reelected because she’s term-limited.”
Correct. She is not concerned about reelection.

The governor further castigated the Republican-controlled legislature, which passed the bill Thursday, for making it the first piece of legislation to reach her desk this year. Her priorities, she said, are a budget, economic growth and “fixing our broken child protection system.”
Brewer cannot run for re-election because of term limits.

Just another liberal Demokrat id n disguise.
This will get the base out.
It hurts all the rinos.
It hurts democrats.
It helps conservatives who have no paid or stupid dead end nutjobs in their primaries.
An AZ poster mentioned (on another thread) that she may try and fight the term limit since she began her term when Janet Nap resigned to be DHS.
She needs to take Juan McShame by the hand and they both need to ride into the AZ sunset.
