Plan as I sees it: Russian dominated area breaks away from Ukraine, declares independence, Russia recognized its independence, Ukraine tries to regain lost land, Russian troops move in to protect them, Area becomes part of Russia, Move and checkmate. Ukraine becomes smaller—Russia becomes larger.
Exactly. Russia would never tolerate a united Ukraine in NATO but it can live with a shrunken Ukraine in the Western alliance. After all, a country of 20 million people is a much more manageable risk than a country of 50 million. Russia accepts the eastern Europe is now part of the West but Ukraine is a part of what Russians call their “near abroad.” And ties of culture, faith and history make Ukraine part of Russia’s sphere of influence, whether or not the West acknowledges it.
The last stumbling blocks to the evil New World Order agenda are Russia, China & to a much lesser degree, Iran. Always remember that, fellow FReeper. Tragically, the US gov’t no longer stands for what it once did. :((
Solid prediction. This is exactly what happened when Georgia tried to defend itself against Russian aggression in 2008. Over 20% of Georgia is now effectively annexed to Russia. If Ukranians think that the West will do anything to assist them against Russia, they should speak to the Hungarians (1956) and Czechs (1968).
Hope your scenario proves right.
