Help me out here, how exactly is the off the grid lifestyle considered more dangerous and harmful to the environment than a typical electrical powered house or apartment? How exactly do they explain this?
Off the grid = less controllable.
Here’s the facts as I know them:
A tree on my acreage that falls and dies and rots releases X amount of CO2.
If I take that same tree and use it for heat, it releases the very same X amount of CO2...no more, no less.
I have heated all through this winter’s cold spell with wood. While propane soared so high it became a matter of governor declared emergency in many states, I was just fine and toasty at home. I do have propane backup.
I heat my water, my house, and my wife’s quilt studio with our wood burning central boiler. I have no doubt that I’m saving energy, money, and even pollution. I allow my trees to replenish. I take down the dead, dying, and unhealthy, because it just makes sense.
I’ve thought of using wood to run a steam generator to power electricity throughout the year.
I’m amazed at the EPA’s hatred of the middle class and poor. Our poor in this county heat with wood and replenish their freezers with deer as their prime source of meat.
I would say that very few of the boot licking, gubmint loving Libs will be engaged in any 'off grid' type of lifestyles. Those would be your Tea Party and Conservative types who are considered 'dangerous' to the Regime.
This is not a problem. I don’t see anywhere where an open fire around under a pot of tar is illegal.
