Pandora Knows How Youll Vote, and Its Not Keeping Your Secret The online music service is telling campaigns what music you listen to, which they say gives away your party affiliation.
The music streaming service announced last week it is launching targeted advertisingallowing candidates to reach voters based on age, location and music preference. According to Pandora, that information can tell with 75-80 percent accuracy how a person will vote.

Heh. At my house the teenagers play Pandora, and they don’t vote.

Any “independent pollster” calling you prior to an election also gets a good idea of how you will vote. They’ll plainly just ask you “Who do you support?”.
The fun comes when said “independent pollster” works for a union.

Hm, I don't have Pandora… but I wonder how my taste for J-Pop/J-Rock would be classified.

If they know how you will vote, then what is the purpose in targeting you?
Anyway, I’m a paid subscriber so I don’t get their ads. Frankly their ads just pissed me off anyway. A political ad would doubly piss me off.

The online music service is telling campaigns what music you listen to, which they say gives away your party affiliation. I only listen to Ted Nugent and Paul Shanklin parodies. How will they be able to use that info to figure out I won't vote for a Democrat?

Heck anybody who comes in contact with me knows who I would never vote for and how I’ll vote. I have no problem telling anyone that. Multiple times...LOUDLY...sometimes I write it on a 2x4 and smack ‘em upside the head.

My iPod has Jimi Hendrix, Doris Day, Merle Haggard, Chris Daughtry, Angela Lansbury, Carrie Underwood, Ella Fitzgerald, The Monkeys, Black Eyed Peas and Shubert (among many others).
I wonder what they are going to take from that.

I don't listen to this new finagled Internet radio. But it's not hard to guess who you would vote for when you listen to Charlie Daniels or Merle Haggard.

I’ve never seen anything political on Pandora.

ahahahaha I’d bet that there’s may be a whole phalanx of head scratching “researchers” working on THAT particular playlist.
I cant wait for the Hendrix/Haggard compilation...they made some great music together
