Take the Senate, then we might have a chance.

Nope. Conviction and removal requires 2/3 of the Senate. I doubt it is even mathematically possible for the GOP to control 2/3 of the seats after the next election.

Which leaves aside the fact that it is doubtful whether even 2/3 of the GOP senators would vote for conviction.

He can still be impeached and go down in history with Clinton and Johnson with that stain on his presidency.

He won’t ever be convicted in the Senate, but it might slow him down. I’m not so sure he could recover like Clinton did since Clinton still had the Reagan recovery going for him.
