The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Democrats are targeting as hypocrits Republicans who voted against stimulus funding and then sought money for their states or districts.
A pair in the crosshairs are U.S. Sens. John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchison, both R-Texas.
The Environmental Protection Agency received two letters from Sen. John Cornyn of Texas asking for consideration of grants for clean diesel projects in San Antonio and Houston. Mr. Cornyn is the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
One of the letters was signed jointly with Republican Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, also of Texas. The letter said that the Port of Houston Authority has informed me of the positive impact this grant will have in the region by serving as a foundation for PHAs Clean Air Strategy Plan, creating jobs, and significantly reducing diesel emissions. Houston received millions of dollars in diesel funding.

Have you ever noticed how they try to tack to the 'middle' but govern from the far left. And they try to blame their opponents for their own faults.
Have you never noticed?
I have a lot of problems with Cornyn but trying to get stimulus funds sent to Texas after voting against the stimulus bill is not one of them.
There is nothing at all hypocritical about voting against a federal tax and spending bill and then, after it passes, trying to get some of the money taxed out of Texas sent back to Texas.
If we could opt out of the tax part then we should opt out of the spend part. Since we are going to get taxed whether we get any of the funds back or not then we need to try and get as much of it back as we can.
Cornyn skipped the stimulus cloture vote because he wanted it to pass without his fingerprints in the first place!
That was his m/o on Obamacare, Amnesty and Debt Ceiling, too.
Good for them.
They are simply getting what they deserve. Inconsistent liars, that want it both ways... But they are so “middle of the road.”
It’s the middle of the road candidate that is the recipe for failure: Mccain, Dole, Romney, Bush senior...
Cornyn:
Cloture = Yes
Vote = No
RAT plan passes and he asks for his share of the loot.
Exactly. Cornyn wants it both ways. And he uses his cloture weasel hijinks as a method of getting away with it. Not any more.
The last few years have shown me that not only did he have an understanding with Lucy, Charlie Brown (the GOP-e) never intended to kick the football even if she failed to yank it away.
