These plans are advertised on tv. They are marketed as a way to save for your children's college education, but these plans also function as life insurance should the child die. The one company which advertises a lot is Gerber, but there may be others.
Personally, I'm with you. Just doesn't seem right. And I'm sure there are better ways to save for your child's education.
