We're looking at 2.5 million discouraged workers thanks to ObamaCare
Fox News ^ | February 13, 2014 | John Lott

Tens of millions have lost their health insurance or will very soon lose it.

ObamaCare enrollees are being turned away from doctors’ offices.

Health insurance premiums are soaring.

Others can no longer receive care at top hospitals. Personal information is being stolen from the ObamaCare website.

The list of problems goes on and on.

To add to that list of problems we now find that ObamaCare will discourage 2.5 million Americans from working, reducing our national income and increasing the deficit.

Almost four years after ObamaCare was enacted, Congressional Budget Office finally decided: “In producing this year’s projections, one area on which we focused was the labor market . . . .”

In the rush to pass ObamaCare, CBO justifies ignoring these considerations because ObamaCare’s regulations “were still in the process of being developed.”

Unfortunately, there is a real pattern where the CBO’s initial estimates for ObamaCare’s impact on spending, tax revenue, and deficits have proven to be far too optimistic. Mistakes in initial estimates consistently worked to make it easier to pass ObamaCare.

As if the nanny state hasn’t gotten out of hand . . . .

Well we know Medicare was gutted by $7 TRILLION over 20 yrs, what we don’t know is how much Tricare Prime or Tricare Life were gutted. We have already been told that we will see less services, less test, less medicines or procedures. Have seen signs up in the doctors offices saying NO NEW MEDICARE TRICARE LIFE PATIENTS! Took quite a few phone calls to locate a new internist that would take it. Our old one is 180 min round trip after we moved just 22 miles, and he was just making to many ‘medical’ errors. I was most unhappy with him as I was usually his ‘target’.

And I am not sure I’m happy with the new one. He is running every 3 months, EKG, Chest Xray and Thyroid panels on us. First off I have a ENDOCRINOLOGIST who takes care of that, internist are not educated enough to treat hypothyroidism. After the second surprise test we did not know he ran, he sees a slight uptick in a T panel. Never once examined my thyroid, yet order a Radio Active Thyroid Scan, very expensive, and I have no idea of side effects from it. No questions asked, about all the variables that can cause a temp uptick in a T panel. Iodine rich food, supplement, or a medicine could be the cause. Yet he is stupid enough to write a script for Narco lots of side effects, and clearly states NOT TO BE GIVEN TO THYROID PATIENTS! That is how well he knows how to treat the disease. My Endo has a list of things I am not supposed to take a month prior to his testing so he can get a clean test. And if something is off HE calls, not some RUDE nurse who does not even have the test results in front of her.

We are smoke free so why the every 3 month Chest X rays? Husband has a good Cardiologist, who does his own EKGs. So there is no need for him to run EKGs. I do not have heart issues. All he is supposed to do is take care of writing our scripts the specialist ordered the first time, and do the testing for damage those meds could cause and treat any new minor illness. Only time a EKG would be needed if a needed surgery demanded it.

Obama’s plan to nationalize healthcare is working by convincing doctors to abandon their private practice for a steady job in a hospital.

“Apparently, the wealthy just don’t realize that they will be better off spending more time with their families. “

Go Galt. Make your Tax Footprint as small as possible. Make that Federal Revenue Loss MORE than the 2.5M job loss equivalent. Starve the Beast.

You have everything you need.

The Hospitals are GSE’s. Health care providers are becoming Government Employees. All according to plan.

This is the perfect storm of wealth destruction:

First, you have an economy where no one can find work.

Second, you ramp up subsidies so that people can make a career out of living on public assistance without working.

The combination means that the lazy will immediately opt out of the workforce. Then people who wanted to work but can’t will opt out of the workforce. Then the economy will be further depressed and you start the cycle all over again.

Sounds like a lot of defensive Medicine being practiced. I wonder if that’s going to get worse?
