When we relocated from CA to TN, our three cats came on the plane with us. The black TSA agents at LAX took the cats to a separate room and searched them and their cages for about 10 minutes. However, ragheads walked through without a second look.

Thanks to our treatment by the TSA Nazis (all black) and the sadistic unionized skycaps (all black), that day was one of the five worst days of my life. And some really awful things have occurred over 65 years. I think sadism is the common thread running through all black people with power. Here in TN, TSA generally are lovely people and treat travelers with respect.

This is a topic no one talks about. I understand that the jobs are passed down from generation to generation. The wage is barely above monimum wage, but $5 or $10 per transaction every few minutes means a TON of cash tip income. And I’ll bet the IRS is not aggressive about this non-diverse position.

Moreover, they are obsolete. Skycaps (like redcaps at train stations of old) were historically there to CARRY your bags for you to the train, or at least into the terminal. Now, the airlines inexplicably provide all the technology, trademark kiosks, and a conveyor belt. I don’t know why the airlines give all this away, and penalize the traveler by forcing them to use the tip-extortion machine.

Last time I used them (was forced by a tour bus drop-off) they were slow (dumb waste of their tips) and loud and rude.
