How come businesses can opt out?

I'm ok with private property owners being able to say they don't want firearms on the property. I won't shop there, but it's their property.

If business owners can violate the Constitution, then government can too.

The constitution can ONLY be violated by government. It is a document that defines the powers of government. In itself, it does not grant any right.

Jim kicks people off FR who champion issues that are liberal. Jim is not violating anyone's Constitutional rights.

what it comes down to for me is that somehow government now thinks they have the right to determine civilized behavior

in that context i object

because they dont have an effing clue

And in their cluelessness, they compromise my safety, because I can't comfortably carry concealed.

I'm with you.

If I can’t drink beer at home, I don’t care about living. They are already cracking down on smokes in the home.

Not my home. You are welcome to have a beer, cigar or cigarette, and carry here in my kitchen. Just don't put out the cigarettes on the floor. ;)

I can't do that. If I could, I would. I shouldn't have to. Open carry should be an option.

Many of us are pushing for open carry here in Texas.

Trampling on Private Property Rights violates the Constitution. What the heck are you trying to compare?

If I own a Business and refuse to serve a Person for whatever reason, the Government has no right to tell me otherwise.

Well, that’s how this Country started out anyway. Now you can be compelled to do anything by the Government if someone feels slighted. Gays and Bakeries, Gays and Chicken Places, Liberals and Gun Shops...

i do too, it is a right. but govt can encourage people positively - not coercively or negatively - to be trained minimally. give em a tax break or tax rebate or something if they get some training. or reimburse for part of the training course.
