When the economy took a crap I started my own business. Didn’t cry and won’t look back. I recommend it to everyone.

That’s a stupid way of putting it. Include all working age men and 1 out of 4 aren’t working. That’s a huge number when you consider the large number of baby boomers.

Thanks to Obama’s policies, 19.3 million Americans have been freed of job lock, freed of the stress of working, and freed from The System. They can count on welfare and ObamaCare forever, and if they aspire to advancement, they can vote for increased benefits. Obama promised Change, and he delivered. I imagine even more Americans will leave the work force over the next three years as we transition to a socialist utopia. I wonder if we’re going to go with a national socialist or soviet socialist model.

We've done this before.
A student of mine asked me to correct his master's thesis. The FIRST paragraph of two or three sentences has FIFTY ERRORS in grammar and spelling. I didn't even LOOK at punctuation. He handed his thesis in AS IS...and got his master's degree.

Graduating from high school is NO guarantee that a minority can read, write, spell--or pass a drug test.

Giving minorities "gift" master's degrees is S.O.P., and I witnessed that FIRST HAND with said student above who KNEW he would get the "dream" job though he COULDN'T read, write or spell.
I don't know about the drugs--none of my business.

I DID tell him that this "gift" master's degree would come back and bite him in the butt, as when he will write something he will look like the ILLITERATE that he was.
He WILL be obliged to have to ask someone to write the simplest letter, memo or answer to an e-mail. He nodded and smiled.
I told him that he would get the job but that he would not keep it or get promoted. For proof of his incompetency ANYONE in his "office" could vouch for his illiteracy. He was DOOMED. I told him so and he, yep, you got it, nodded and smiled.

No doubt he is back in the projects selling drugs or just taking in his welfare checks. I wonder if he had the honesty to admit that I was right.

Back when Bush was being trashed for 5% unemployment and “McJobs” who knew that “funemployment” would be the next media buzzword?

For those who don't have a calculator handy, one in six men out of work is a 17% unemployment rate.

For those that don't have a history book handy, 21% unemployment, just 5% more, rate was the peak unemployment rate at the depths of the Great Depression .

In the 30’s we the unemployed men working in the WPA building Hoover Dam. Now we have unemployed men sitting around living on welfare checks paid for with money borrowed from the Chinese and the Arabs.

So we have 17% unemployment for men in the 25 -54 age bracket.

It ‘s more like over 30% in the 18 to 24 age bracket and well over 17% in the 55 - 65 year old age bracket.

Sum total, more than 1 in 5 or over 20% of men from the age of 18-65 are unemployed.

Folks, those are Great Depression level unemployment numbers.

The stores are full of foreign made goods, while Americans sit idle.

Raise the import tariffs, and lower the income tax by an equal amount. This would put Americans back to work, restore American industries which we need to defend ourselves, raise government revenues from more people working, lower government outlays from fewer people on safety net programs.

About 2 million of these prime-age men are on Social Security Disability Insurance.

And, based on my interviews of many of these folks as a triage interviewer at a local food/clothing bank, I posit that at least 30% are on SSDI fraudulently.

They lose their job, go on unemployment and simultaneously apply for SSDI. They get a good SSDI lawyer that knows how to work the system. It may take a year or more to be approved for SSDI. No problem, because in the meantime they are collecting unemployment pay. End of day, they're getting a monthly check from you and me for the rest of their life.

SSDI is the new welfare.

Hey, don't despair, the unemployment rate is dropping. At this rate we'll have 1 in 100 working and 0% unemployment. Is this a great country or what??

These are supposed to be a man’s prime working years, and the primary reason to exist for men of any age is to be doing something, that is, working.

Therefore, this translates to AT LEAST a 17% unemployment rate.
