MADRID, Spain- A Spanish prosecutor has agreed to investigate Cardinal-elect Fernando Sebastian Aguilar after a national homosexualist group launched a legal action against him last month, accusing him of hate speech for calling homosexuality a defective way of expressing sexuality.
Aguilar, recently named as a cardinal-elect by Pope Francis, told the Spanish newspaper Diario Sur January 20 that sex has a structure and a purpose, which is procreation. Cardinal-elect Fernando Sebastián Aguilar with Pope Francis
A homosexual who cant achieve procreation is failing, he said. Our bodies have many defects. I have high blood pressure, a defect I have to try and correct in whatever way I can.
Members of Colegas, the homosexual group behind the complaint, say that the Cardinal-elects words "clearly incit[e] hate and discrimination, a crime that they say violates constitutional guarantees.
Spain is a modern country and a secular one, and these types of declarations from the church have to be punished because [members of the church] are the least qualified to talk about sexual deficiencies, above all because they have hidden cases of child abuse and paedophilia, Colegas president Antonio Ferre said after filing the complaint.
Public prosecutor Juan Carlos Lopez has begun a preliminary inquiry "to clarify whether the allegations constitute a criminal offence, reported AFP.
According to Colegas, this is the first time such an investigation has been opened.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church, the official compendium of Catholic doctrine, states that while the psychological genesis of homosexuality remains largely unexplained, nevertheless, homosexual acts are acts of grave depravity.
Tradition has always declared that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered. They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved, the Catechism states.
Best get used to it.
Of interest.
So, when does the Pope come to the cardinal’s defense?
Juan Carlos Lopez may be wearing pink underware.
So much for “tolerating” sodomites.
shocking. absolutely shocking!
my, how the mighty have fallen......(not just in Europe, but in USA too these last few years...)
Well here we go. What the hell is he suppose to do? What are they going to do to him? Jail him? Bring it on demons, we got the King, what do you have?
Watch and wait.
Homosexuality is not natural and they claim that they were “born that way”. Wouldn’t that be a defect? Juan Carlos needs to investigate himself and find out why his elevator doesn’t go all the way to the top. It’s not rocket science.
“”I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison, and his successor will die a martyr in the public square.” Francis Cardinal George
Sounds like the politically correct third world EU is escalating its “war on religion”. Soon to arrive at NY, Ma, Ct, etc. soon.
Agreed 1000% but the Duck Dynasty guy said it better.
SSAD, Same sex attraction DISORDER. It is not natural and IS a disorder. It is not a sin to be disordered, but it is a sin do an act that is against natural(God’s) law.
Don’t hold your breath. Several somewhat conservative Spaniards were recently removed from positions of power and Madrid is holding its breath because the Pope will probably replace the 78 year old Cardinal Archbishop of Madrid soon (the same one who was attacked at mass by the bare breasted pro-aborts last week). Some of the candidates most talked about would make your hair stand on end. Cdl Ruoco is considered relatively conservative and has done a great job in Madrid by restoring popular devotions, reviving vocations, etc. and Madrid does not want to be dumped back in the anything-goes 80s again by a bishop with that mindset.
This poor Spanish cardinal who is now being investigated by the prosecutors is a mild-mannered, devout and orthodox bishop, although not a great mover and shaker. He was appointed mostly as an honor for his patient work over the years and as a gesture to avioid further offending Spain, because it was essentially a meaningless appointment, since he’s too old to vote.
So I’d be thrilled to see the Pope defend him, but I don’t think he will...I hope I’m wrong on this.
“”sex has a structure and a purpose, which is procreation.”
That is exactly the thing that Liberals and Secularists do not understand with all their advocacy of deviant gay sex and promotion of male and female sex with contraception and even before marriage.
But, but homosexuality IS a defective way of expressing sexuality!
Homosexual behavior results in a shorter life span of 20 years. The life span is reduced by significantly increased risk of sexually transmitted disease, AIDs, physical health problems, and mental health problems.
Do Spanish prosecutors go to school? Can they connect the dots? Why do they want to increase the health risks of the Spanish people?
There is a strain of anti-clericism in Spain. Remember the thousands of priests, nuns, and monks butchered by the Republican Government during the Spanish Civil War. The one difference is instead of persecution in the name of some Marxist or Anarchist utopia this time it for the gays.
So, one wonders just who is Juan Carlos Lopez. Is he heterosexual or homosexual? Is he a Catholic in name only, or is he of another faith? Or, is he simply another hack politician looking for some publicity? It would be interesting to find out.
And we Catholics thought persecution and martyrdom was only a Roman pagan practice. The more things change, the more they remain the same.
There is no "gay" gene.
If there were ANY group of scientists motivated to find gay/bisexual genes it would be Western scientists. They tried VERY, VERY, VERY hard to find the "gay" gene, the "bisexual" gene and even the gene that would render them non-sexual or asexual, an asexual gene.
The result? NO gay genes, no bisexual genes, no asexual genes. We are ALL born with HETEROSEXUAL genes.
Homosexuality, bisexuality, asexuality: it's a CHOICE.
Mind you, the CHOICE is made when people are in their early-mid teens. They really CAN'T know the long term consequences of so horrible a choice but they make it nonetheless.
That information is so well-known and accepted that it's on ANY search engine.
You are correct: it's not rocket science.
So the concept of opinion is dead in Spain. Got it.
