Parkdale Mall then placed signs along each parking lot entrance reminding customers of its policy on guns which states concealed handguns are prohibited.

I lived in TX (several years ago) and was under the impression that, beyond trespassing upon being asked to leave a premises, signs restricting the legal carry and concealment of weapons did not carry legal weight. Does anyone know the law down there?

To prohibit concealed-carry handguns on Texas property, the "30.06" sign language must be posted:

The generic "revolver with the red circle and bar" type signs are not legally effective in Texas. Those more common signs would serve to prohibit open carry of handguns as well as all carrying of long guns (whether cased or slung, I'd suppose).
