I don’t disagree with the free movement of people within Europe (and I say that as a Eurosceptic), and if I could, I’d jemmy in the Americans, Canadians, Australians and New Zealanders with that if I could, but the racist implications would be too obvious.

Immigration from people whose countries have a similar culture, reasonably similar GDP per capita and will easily be able to assimilate and become British within a generation are no threat as far as I’m concerned. Ones from barbaric third world cultures where honour killing, genital mutilation and witchcraft etc is common practice most certainly are, and I would rather slam the door right down on them.

I believe in nation states. I’m a patriot and I love my country and I assume most Europeans feel the same way about their nations.

If you are talking about legal immigration, that is one matter and I agree with you about movement of people who are culturally similar to the nation into which they are immigrating.

But I believe these one-worlder types really want one world government to benefit their commercial and economic interests.

I don’t. I’m an American and I believe in things like free enterprise, the Second Amendment and Freedom of Speech, and while Anglophne Countries are most similar to mine, all other Anglophone countries I know do NOT accept those as human rights. If I don’t like Muslims, I can say it here and I can buy firearms to protect myself. I’m presumed innocent until proven guilty, and the government doesn’t have a right to come prying into my affairs without a Court order - although the last two idiots we have had in office are doing everything possible to erode those rights. I am confident things will soon return to normal here.

Great in theory, but it doesn't work in practice. The flood of EU workers into the UK takes jobs and depresses wages. Also, many of these workers are claiming welfare benefits. In 2017 the UK will hold a referendum on whether to stay in the EU or not.

European officials are aware that with the European elections pending in May, there will be many anti-establishment parties pushing for the same restrictions as the Swiss voted for. Brussels will believe it has to defend a core principle, yet it will also be aware of how strongly the immigration issue plays with voters.

There is a counter-revolution in Europe, mainly due to the issue of immigration and the edicts of the ruling elites in Brussels. Language, culture, borders, and history matter no matter what the Mandarins in Brussels have to say.
