The Final Constitutional Option
American Thinker ^ | February 9, 2014 | Robert Berry

Posted on 02/09/2014 6:12:12 AM PST by vg0va3

Having been dormant for centuries, a potent section in the U.S. Constitution is now in the minds and on the lips of a new generation of reformers who are determined to keep the nation out of an abyss. As America stares hard at the darkness ahead, the new reformers have begun to popularize this forgotten constitutional provision that might well become Official Washington's undoing.

Hahahahahaha!!! Sorry. Couldn’t help it. More coffee?

Anyway, I’ve read Levine’s book and totally support the effort. It’s our last best hope to save the country without armed conflict.

Give the direction the country is going...we have nothing to lose.

We either clean house this time in the Primary and General election, or we face other means.

Neither of the 2 options that I classify as “other means” are without risk. But neither is life.

The best outcome is a purge of DC at the polls. This will only happen with the efforts of the Tea Party and the Patriots acting on their own.

If that fails, this will not end well. ComDems will not give up power gently in any outcome. There is nothing they will not do to stay in power, NOTHING.

So we much understand that from the beginning. Let that thought color our reaction to their illegal usurpation of power.

Many of us think it will save the country by ending the strangle-hold the government has established.

I would expect that the same government we try to rein in may be the party that resorts to violence against the People to defend it's power base - that might do more to destroy the country than current efforts by the Left or anything a Constitutional Convention would.

Have you noticed its the Marxists who run many of the states now? The Fatal flaw with this approach is simply there are not enough conservatives in leadership positions in enough states to ensure a convention will not backfire on The People.

Even more, we are “past the turning point” because a majority of our citizens are fools brainwashed by a thoroughly Marxist educational system, and their numbers are only increasing - and will never decrease. Every national general election will show this.

The commies knew that controlling education and media were the key, and both are accomplished.

That’s why more and more states are going “Blasio”. Virginia used to be conservative. Wholly taken over by the northern Marxist bunch now.....

That’s why this will never work.

It is. This Article V stuff is pie in the sky. First it won’t happen. Second with all the progressives in power now its dangerous to be talking about Article V.

What most people don’t understand is that the 535 legislators in Congress don’t really make most of the laws and rules we all hate so much.

Its the govt bureacracy an unelected cabal that makes most of the laws and regulations. That bureacracy is now riddled with progressives/communists. No matter who we elect President in 2016 they will still be there making odious laws.

The only way to rid ourselves of this beast is to close down govt agencies. Then these people disappear. If we don’t shutter the EPA, Dept of Energy, Dept of Education, BATF, DHS and deeply cut a few others nothing will change. Even if Sarah Palin was President you would still be reading about how the EPA is doing this and that and how the DHS is militarizing the state and local police. I promise you Sarah Palin and/or Cruz and Paul would not be able to stop these rogue agencies. Article V won’t stop it either.

The best outcome is a purge of DC at the polls.

You are assuming that we have a fully functional and uncorrupted electoral system.

With all due respect, I completely disagree...

Article V is ONE approach... Nullification is another... And voting some of these bastards out is a 3rd...

NONE of this will happen in 1 or 2 (or 10) elections. We didn’t get here in 10 years and it won’t be fixed that fast either. However, if we could get another 10 Ted Cruz’s in the Senate would that help? How about another 50 Trey Gowdy’s in the House?

Unfortunately, Conservatives tend to fight each other because we want to be right about our approach. I’ll support any common-sense, constitutional attempt to restore the Framers constitution... If this includes Article V then that’s one approach.

It’s time for the conservatives & patriots to Cloward/Piven Washington DC!

You want people to just give up? What is your solution to an out-of-control federal government?

Yes. But it is still the best option.

Others may be necessary before this is over.

No disrespect, but there is NOT going to be an uprising that includes citizens taking up arms against the government... 50+% don’t pay taxes and have no beef with FedGov... Another percentage is receiving some type of payment from FedGov...

The percentage left is VERY small... The likely outcome of any kind of collapse will be the haves & have-nots shooting each other...

That’s the environment that is being fostered right now with the BHO administration...
