In elaborate testimony Wednesday, Fort Lauderdale Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein told a federal court how he had wielded influence over Charlie Crist while he was governor and used his role as a political appointee to a local judicial nominating commission to improperly ensure that Crist's personal favorites were nominated to the 4th District Court of Appeal and the Broward Circuit Court.
Rothstein said he favored candidates who "were going to favor our law firm."

Yup, first I heard of it was here. Media is mum on the subject. Meanwhile, the Jacksonville shooting is front page above the fold daily reading here in Jax.
The man stuck his nose up the Obamabutt.
Which means he is venal, corrupt, without merit, and a closet lib.

Well, a LOT of people knew, but they weren’t admitting it at the time.
This is gonna hurt in his bid against Rick Scott for the governorship of Florida.
That is, if Charlie even gets the nod from the Democrats to run for the office as a RINO-turned-Independent-turned-Democrat. Not politically reliable, doncha know.

I think in 2014, the real bombshell would be the Governor or President that did NOT sell an appointed office.

I don’t know if the Broward County Circuit Court is corrupt (it probably is) but I do know that it is incompetent and infested with RAT political activists.

Well, we now know that Obama is selling Ambassadorships. Some of these a$$holes don’t know anything about “their countries,” and/or they’ve never been there prior to their “appointment.”

I’m not convinced, Sarge. The medical marijuana initiative might bring a larger-than-normal youth crowd to the polls, but there are rumors that Scott might beat them to the punch and sign a legislative bill to make “Charlotte’s Web” legal. This is apparently a “medicinal” version of marijuana that’s lower potency.
If the progressives want true medical marijuana, I’m on board. I think we all know that the real goal is to legalize pot for recreational purposes as they’ve done in Colorado and Washington. I don’t think the voters in this state will let that happen too easily.
Dirty little secret: everyone here wants it.
I personally know one retirement community (filled with ageing Leftists) who will never admit that OdingaCare has priced them out of their meds, so they’re turning to hashish for pain relief (so they tell themselves).
You talk to anyone about pot in FL, and they immediately say “Rush did Oxycotin, so there, teabagger!”
And there are too many stupid people who actually think they can vote their way out of this mess!
As a regular at my local AA club and a member of a family of full of addicts who regularly attend meetings, I can tell you that you are more correct than you likely know. Sadly, many of the younger alcoholics in the club admit that they’d go back to smoking pot if it was legal, as if it’s an acceptable stand-in.
If the “medical” marijuana bill is on the ballot here in November, we’ll watch Florida go bright blue real quick.
