Memo to Conservatives: Republicans Aren't Your Friends Time for conservatives to stop being nice.

One of the reasons the national Republican Party is such a mess is because Republicans are far too reluctant to criticize their own.

Republicans are nice people. Too many Republicans think it's wrong to criticize other Republicans.

This failure to be forthright has had consequences. It has allowed the Republican Party to take up political space it has no business occupying as it embraces left-wing statist tyranny. Much of the time, the GOP is merely Democrat-lite.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) are so dangerously out of touch and out of control nowadays in part because other Republicans have allowed them to get that way. Boehner and McConnell regard conservatives as a nuisance to be overcome, co-opted, subverted, and if necessary, eliminated.

A new way of thinking is required.

For a start, if you self-identify as a Republican and you are serious about restoring the Constitution, shrinking the government, and reducing government spending, it is wrong to think of other Republican Party members as necessarily being your friends.

A political party isn't a club or a sacred religious order. It isn't a brotherhood or fraternity. The other people in the party aren't necessarily your friends, or even people you'd feel comfortable lending your lawnmower.

I object to the term “RINO”!

The GOP has never been conservative and never will be. You are their tool if you think so.

True conservatives should be on their knees praying for our country. We owe allegiance to no one but God. We are in this situation because our country turned away from God, He would never abandon us.

Stop listening to false prophets and pray! Read the bible, and then ask for His discernment and will to be done.

Otherwise, we are likely to become slaves, or at minimum spend at least 40 years in the desert.

Jesus is our real King.

The GOP has been as anti-conservative as the DNC.

And it continues to do so, even after being put on notice.

“Memo to Conservatives: Republicans Aren’t Your Friends Time for conservatives to stop being nice.”

Good advice, except it’s amazing how many neo-con trolls we have infesting FR who go politically correct apoplectic when you criticize republicans, black liberation racists or obuma. Until we get rid of these slimy DU worms, we won’t gain much traction to win our freedom. We know these traitors from experience, and it’s time for a house cleaning on FR.

Much of the time, the GOP is merely Democrat-lite.

There was a time when you could say this, not any longer. There's just one party in Washington, D. C. these days. We're kidding ourselves when we think outside these terms.

Although I don't find fault with the statement, Republicans are not our friends, especially the GOPe collective, I do think there are better ways than to simply go after them. I will admit that's a rather subjective term though. What is really meant here.

If we're just talking about trashing them (something I've done repeatedly), then I don't think it's productive. If it's reminding them that we want nothing more or less than our nation's Founding Fathers, it really puts them on the spot. I think that is not only healthy, it really frames them for precisely what they have become.

The GOPe is now content to call us terrorists or extremists simply because we respect the U. S. Constitution and damn them with it in hand.

This is where we separate the men from the boys, as it relates to Republicans vs Democrats, Conservatives vs Leftists, and reasoned people vs those who have strayed and seek to turn this nation into something it was never intended to be.

We need to hit them right between the eyes with this. Hammer them hard based on it, and hammer them often based on it. Just never let up until they get religion (Conservative style).

If they can't or won't, it will be plain for everyone across the board to see.

Until there is a firmly-established Tea Party, and I mean, with membership roles, 53 or more established offices, and a national headquarters, then I am not interested in dealing with third parties. Third party conservatives who threw their support behind Ross Perot gave us Bill and Hillary Clinton on a silver platter. Clinton only got a plurality, but he was the president. Without Clinton, we likely would not have had Obama.

So don't bother ME with nonsense in neglecting the only ESTABLISHED voice that opposes the Democrat party.

Yup; I’ll never forget that raging liberal Ronald Reagan.

1. The GOP hated Reagan

2. The second he won the nomination, he sold out to the Bushies.

3. If you want to worship Reagan, go ahead if it makes you happy. But, if you were around in the '80s and conservative, you know what happened.

4. He gave damn good speeches!

How will you get all that “establishment” from the TP, if you aren’t willing to deal with them?

Depends on how you define conservative.
The Republicans are conservative in contrast to the Marxist Democrats. Ronald Reagan was certainly the best in my life, but today’s choices are somewhat dismal.
The new USSA has a rapidly expanding class of those who expect government to be their mother and father.
The reelection of Obumbo convinced me that America will not return to be the country that I grew up in.
The rapidly growing population of blacks and poor immigrants makes it very difficult to recover.

If he really sold out to the Bush clan, then things would not have gotten out from under the Carter malaise, I think.

It seems a bit far-fetched to imply that the country was in an inexorable slide towards Marxism since the end of the Civil War, though. If that were the case, then a Bolshevik-type revolution would have happened here before it did in Russia. Then again, I don’t know your definition of conservatism, so your perspective is a bit opaque to me.

Mark Levin made a damned good point tonight.

Too many politicians from across the nation represent DC!!!!

(Some politician is anxiously trying to buy a house in the state that he supposedly represents—Kansas?-—does he even LIVE there?)

Well, we can and do pray. But, if we don’t fight then what is the point. God helps those who help themselves.
