The serfs must not be armed....
We need to push back against the farce of reasonable gun control that has infected even FR to some extent.
People who think they’re being “reasonable” in supporting keeping guns out of the hands of felons are being emotional and nothing more.
After all, if someone intends to use a gun to commit a crime, he isn’t going to ask a sheriff for permission. Instead the sheriff gets to collect the names of law abiding citizens who ask.
MOLON LAVE!
Confucius say man who take bone away from dog get bit.
My “conversation” on gun control starts like this. Anyone who does not cheerfully agree that this is the right direction is suspected of being a genocidal tyrany, or an enabler thereof.
1. As recently as the second half of the 20th century, liberals understood that the 2nd amendment was about insuring against tyranny.
Proof: “Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used, and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of citizens to bear arms is just one more guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible”
Senator Hubert H. Humphrey (D) Minn.
“Know Your Lawmakers” Guns (magazine), February, 1960, p. 4.
2. The current background check system is defacto registration (enabling confiscation and tyranny), but needlessly so, as the objective of denying gun purchases to certain individuals can be met without recording data about what guns qualified owners have purchased. Any “conversation” about pending the background check system should include eliminating any record of what qualified buyers decide to purchase.
