House Speaker John A. Boehner scrambled to sell a new debt-ceiling solution to his Republican colleagues on Wednesday, encouraging them to demand a restoration of recently cut military benefits in exchange for a one-year extension of the federal governments borrowing authority.
Though Boehner (R-Ohio) did not formally endorse the idea as his own, he did ask his lieutenants to test it among rank-and-file Republicans.

This deserves Facepalm graphics. Why I say that? Because it was Paul Ryan who insisted on the benefit cut to vet pensions, changing the cost of living formula, when he negotiated away the sequester cute to Senator Airhead Murray of WA. That way when Paul Ryan sold this crap sandwich he could claim it would cut spending way out into the future. Looks like that spending cut won't last a few months before being reversed.

First, this is the Washington Post which is an abomination. Second, this is about Boehner who is an abomination.
The news story carries the stench of the news source.

Wont that just increase the deficit??
That will give the Dems ammunition to use against any cuts.
That is how it ended up there in the first place.

Debt is already higher than GDP. No more borrowing on heads of younger generations coming up. Cut the doggone spending!

Give Obama the money to put back the troops pensions. Anything else has to be negotiated with cuts.
Let the rats defend that.

So they want Obama to agree to increased spending as condition to raise the debt ceiling? Boehner drives a hard bargain for conservative values.
