That is some really silly logic there. You also just really missed the difference between the Catholic church leadership and male leadership.
The leadership of the Catholic church is not only male, they are men who vow to never know a woman, who vow to never be husband or father, or boyfriend, for their entire life. These aren't guys that go home after work to a wife, or a date with a female, or their children. It is pure male, all the time, an oath for life.
When the young men vow celibacy to themselves as they start on their career path and then as priests, it will also attract many who have guilt and shameful thoughts that they don’t want to act on.
I agree with the Commandant of the Swiss Guard, the culture is always going to attract gays, just as it clearly does, even at the Vatican.
They cause scandal for the many good priests who consciously, willingly, sacrificially, gave up marriage and fatherhood to be a father to their flock.
Way back when, 30 years ago (before I was a Catholic), I knew a couple of priests who were "a little funny" (I'm the daughter of a professional dancer, so I know 'em when I see 'em.) They are long gone - one way or another.
I haven't seen any like that in years - the priests I know well are rock-solid, normal guys.
Forty years ago I knew “funny” priests, and those “funny” priests are still common.
“A former commander of the Swiss Guard, the small force of men whose job it is to protect the pope, has said there is “a network of homosexuals” within the Vatican, the latest in a series of claims about gay priests working at the heart of the Roman Catholic church.”
