Congress can stop all this stonewalling with one technique. Zero out their budget until they testify. Not one thin dime for the CIA, for anything, until they are brought the heel.

Power of the purse is there. Congress looks foolish when they whine and do not retaliate for overt disrespect.

Agreed -- That there's been jack as far as repercussions go for Fast and Furious, the NSA's domestic-spying, the IRS's political targeting, Benghazi, the whimsical ACA changes, the drug-running/money-laundering [DEA/FBI], and the non-auditing of the Federal Reserve (or the treasury's own gold) says that Congress agrees with these things.

They tried this. But Senate just refused to take single bills. Press blamed Rs.

We need the senate. Then it will be the pres who must veto passed bills.

Rs are not good enough at playing politics in this regard.

But I'm willing to bet that if we do take the senate, plenty budget cutting will happen.
