Socialism sounds pretty good until you have to actually live under it.

Then it is not so much fun anymore.

Hey - what is the first thing a public union goon does when he retires after 20 years of working on a OT spiked pension with free medical care for life that is now tax free due to his/her “disability?”

A: Move to a low tax and right to work state.

You hit on a key area that needs to be emphasized continuously: States Rights.

As long as the federal govt keeps its intrusive hands out of the states, we as Americans are free to move where we wish to.

have a problem with abortion laws or union laws in the state you live in? Just move.

High taxes imposed by your state? just move.

This freedom goes away if, say the federal govt takes in the taxes, decides all abortion or unions laws. Means you cannot escape at all.

I am a firm believer that the South had it correct when they fought for not imposing the federal govt onto the States.

States need to be free to exercise what they wish.

if they wish to build a welfare state, let ‘em. The loafers will flodd there to get the goodies and the productive class will leave for better places.

Those states that choose socialism need to be free to decide this, but NOT to be bailed out by the rest of us.
