Now Obama is telling businesses whom to hire. I doubt that any business had a policy to specifically NOT to hire long time unemployed -- this is more smoke and mirrors, AND more excessive government intrusion into private business practices.

hiring the most qualified is such an old fashioned idea now days... everything is quota driven

All Hail King Obama!
It's about time he intervened and forced these evil corporations to change their official policies of being mean to people and making them poor!

So . . . the Administration, by and because of its so-called "progressive" policies and practices, and in order to "redistribute" the earnings of employers and employees alike, itself destroys economic opportunity and jobs, and now believes Americans are sufficiently "transformed" that they will buy into the Presidennt's "spinning" the story so that the very same Administration is wise, beneficent and responsible for causing them to be rehired. . . .
Unbelievable!!!
What an utter disregard for the innate intelligence of the American people.

Why not just pay them to sit at home, like Mr. Obama does?

One more bit of sarcasm . . .
Just because youve been out of work for a while does not mean that you are not a hard worker, Mr. Obama added. Just means you had bad luck or you were in the wrong industry or you lived in a region of the country thats catching up a little slower than others in the recovery. No, Mr. President, it means that the President of their nation embarked on an announced intention to "fundamentally transform" America from its foundations in "freedom of individual enterprise" and "equality before the law" to the shaky foundations of government-imposed rules, regulations, forced equality of outcomes (redistribution of earnings) and other such nonsense gleaned from his own studies of Marx and other such theoreticians, and you, the now unemployed, are paying the price for his foolish policies.
To: Innovative
So there will be no net increase in people hired. Bur Obama gets credit from the idiocracy. And business is just a little more docile and compliant.

Big Business Joins Obama Effort to Aid Long-Term Unemployed....by bringing in more cheap, immigrant labor to compete with them.

Treehouse Foods, manager I know personally demands that his HR dept not hire anyone who is, or has been unemployed.
Treehouse Foods is a Michelle Obama company, hwere she served on their board of directors. (as what I have no idea)

Why any American business would even take a phone call from this yo-yo is beyond me. All he and his other party members talk about is evil corporations and spreading the wealth around.

Wow— now we are looking to actions that are nothing more than cosmetic to an image that is losing its luster.
Address the underlying cause of job loss, not make it APPEAR as though you are trying to “soften the blow.”

Government CAUSES long-term unemployment with their incessant meddling with things like minimum wage. It’s like the kidnapped thinks the kidnapper is kind becasue the kidnapper feeds him.

Who would you hire? Someone who has been on unemployment for 2 years or someone who has been looking 4 weeks or less?
Who do you think it more motivated to work? The 99 weeker or the 4 weeker?
I know several companies that “file” resumes with a large gap between their last job and present day...
I doubt much will change unless the thug comes out of Obama aginst the companies he wants to make an example of.
