The Correa dictatorship threatened to kill the Generl's entire family. He left to the US seeking asylum will documentation and proof of his integrity, credentials, and the threats against him. His entire family was jailed on US soil. They are all being sent back to the dictatorship that threatened to kill them. Thousands of people have historically come to the US, from around the world, and are granted political asylum. I know this family. They are an amazing, family, and the General was doing his job. This says more about our current administration than anything to date.

Ecuador has turned into a radical leftist country and has, for some time, been pursuing anybody, ranging from bankers to military people, who stood in the way of this at the time. Ecuador knows it has the support of Holder and Obama now, so it is redoubling its efforts to attack these people and, if they’ve gotten out of the country, to get them returned for a kangaroo court trial.

Ecuador, of course, is one of the “emerging markets” responsible for the stock market melt-down; all of these newly leftist countries (leftist within the last few years) are doing so badly economically that they’re on the verge of collapse. But does anybody care how left-wing governments are tied to economic collapse? Apparently not. (There was a very good article in the WSJ a couple of days ago about this.)

Not to mention social collapse. Leftist Bolivia seems to believe it’s going to make a living by selling legalized cocaine, and Ecuador hopes to get in on the legalized drug trade - once it has exhausted the monies it seized from individuals and corporations when the left took over.

I’m not surprised in the least that Obama let this man be seized in our own country, in our own capital, in fact. He even ordered our immigration services to do it.

Great, now we’re posting documents in consideration of illegal immigrants that might come here once on a 1000 years.

Due process is the right of every man. Here’s hoping the General is allowed to exercise his rights.

He is being arrested at the behest of the “Truth Commission” of the Ecuadorian Attorney General.

Basically, Ecuador, which has turned into a leftwing dictatorship, had US authorities seize this former general for “crimes against humanity.” They claim that he was involved in the torture of leftist prisoners before what was essentially a leftist take over of Ecuador.

It had been preceded by “labor actions” and leftwing violence throughout the country, and the General was involved in the army response to these disturbances and plots, although I highly doubt that he was involved in torture, as they claim, and in fact, I would be surprised if any official torture really happened. But Ecuador needs show trials to keep the people revved up, and in addition, they usually seize assets and thus get a little more money flowing into the empty government coffers.

The left is feeling very powerful, mostly because, seeing Obama’s example, they have realized that even economic failure and loss of liberties don’t seem to invalidate them with their faithful.

Made the mistake of thinking he could officially come here. Should have contacted friends here and hid out till Obama makes every illegal a citizen by fiat.

He would have been the exception.

Actually, my objection is to our LEGAL immigration policies. We keep out Latin Americans who just want to work here, and instead fill up the country with government-imported Muslim “refugees” from Africa, the ME and Russia who don’t want to work at all, live on welfare and other benefits, and hate us and want to destroy us. By those standards, since the General clearly does not hate us and want to destroy us and is not a Muslim, Obama wouldn’t let him stay.

I apologize that this is in Spanish. You are guaranteed not to find this in English US news. Alfaro Vive Carajo is a well know communist, terrorist organization that was involved in narco trade, bombing, ect. in Ecuador.

During a previous Ecuadorian president, the army, the police, and other civilian and government organization came together to put an end to the thugs who were killing police officers, bombing buildings, and terrorizing the country.

Correa the “president” that followed, decided to make an example of those people who fought against Alfaro Vive thugs, and has publicly threatened them and their families with jail and even hinted that they deserved death. Of course he claimed they were traitors, killers, blah blah blah.

My cousin is afraid of talking over the phone about this with me, but says it is all true except for the fact that the General is a criminal. He is an amazing man, and did what any one of us would do to protect our country, besides they were following orders. There were hundreds of people involved in fighting Alfaro Vive, they have all been threatened. They have been silenced, and some even disappeared.

The fact that this country would turn Government officials seeking political asylum like that, says it all. It is as if all those Americans fighting the Muslim Brotherhood in Afganistan were suddenly called traders and killers and told that they along with their families were criminals and deserved to die.

The US government KNOWS what Alfaro Vive is. They know what happened. They are in cahoots with dictators!!!
