Rep. Steve King (R-IA), a hawk on immigration, told Breitbart News to look at how the vast majority of Republicans in the chamberwith the exceptions of House Budget Committee chairman Paul Ryan and Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL), among few othersstayed seated in disapproval of Obamas push for amnesty. It didnt soar like some State of the Union addresses will, King said. It didnt really challenge us greatly. One of the things I thought was instructive was to watch the Republicans when he brought up the issue of immigration and I thought he got a very tepid response from Republicans. I couldnt count very many Republicans who were standing at the time. There was Mario Diaz-Balart and Paul Ryan and Im going to guess some of our leadership that I couldnt see. But it looked to me like if you were looking for company on that issue you had to look to the Democrats. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), another immigration hawk, told Breitbart News that Obamas push for amnesty directly contradicts his claim to care for economically hurting Americans. His hard stand on immigration was in total contrast to a large portion of his speech where he was dealing with unemployment and giving people raises, Rohrabacher said.

not just ryan. also the next speaker who is cantor. he needs to be ousted.
If they didn't give King Obama a tepid response on "immigration reform" (aka AMNESTY) they aren't republicans - they're RINOs.
damn...toss’em all out on the dung-heap of history...
The GOP should have walked out as a group.
Paul Ryan loves amnesty..UGH no wonder Romney picked this guy to be his VP nominee..does he actually think that by giving amnesty to illegals that they are going to turn around and vote Republican..its NOT gonna happen..EVER
This is Team Romney bringing Mexicans (like Mitt)
into America to take jobs from Americans.
Not enough? Ryan also supports ObamaCARE/RomneyCARE.
The GOP = the DNC.
The Boehner immigration plan looks destine for another ‘failure’ unless the Rinos steamroll the majority of Rs with 18 Rino votes plus every Dem vote.
The entire “leadership” in the Senate and House should be primaried and tossed out. If not, then throw them out of office with a Democrat. With the majority we expect to have in 2014 in both houses, we can afford to trade these seats away so these fools don’t do us any more damage from the leadership position, plus we will get new ones instead.
There’s a lot of Mexicans in Ryan’s district, but I don’t think this is going to go well for him next election. Just my hunch. The unions have been hitting him hard with TV ads about amnesty.
I dont think they will get every Dem to sign a discharge petition. McIntyre, Barrow and Rahall will vote no. The NRCC wants to win those seats and the best thing that could be done to help Barrow and Rahall survive is voting no on an amnesty bill.
I think there is probably 10 or 20 Dems who don’t want the vote to come up because they will still get the hispanic vote.
Pelosi only has 185 cosponsors for her bill. 182 Democrats.
I think Rohrabacher has more Mexicans than Paul Ryan in his district but both of them win based on a supermajority of the adult white vote.
Ryan is following in the tradition of his mentor, Jack “Big Tent” Kemp, on the issue of immigration. When I worked for Kemp (before Ryan), I did too. Then I grew up. Ryan stayed in the Beltway.
Like Kemp, Ryan seems to have an academic Pollyanna view of immigration that’s in essence Emma Lazarus’ poem The New Colossus.
It’s wrong but at least it’s grounded in something other than K Street money like Boehner’s views on every issue.
“Paul Ryan is now a full fledged corpratist backstabber in the McCain Graham tradition.”
Yep. The “budget whiz kid” isn’t too sharp when you watch what he does rather than just listen to what he says.
fewer that that we now have 2 vacancies in Florida.
The House GOP is slow playing this amnesty and the RATs are paralyzed. If it sounds too horrible to be true it probably is.
