Afghan President Hamid Karzai has reiterated his refusal to sign a key US security pact until a peace process is under way with the Taliban.

"Afghanistan will absolutely not accept or sign anything under pressure," he said at a news conference on Saturday. [snip] "If the US is not willing to accept our conditions, they can leave anytime and we will continue our lives," he told reporters in the Afghan capital, Kabul.[snip] He called on the US to be a friend not a rival, but then compared them directly with colonial Britain in the 19th Century - imposing deals on Afghanistan that ultimately led to war

Ha ha...peace talks with the Taliban. Kind of like peace talks the Europeans had with the Nazis 80 years ago. These neanderthals are hell bent on complete take over no matter what offering the US State Dept makes them, you dopes are buying time for the inevitable and they don’t mind you taking the time, given they get your money now and the country later, laughing all the way back to their caves. P.S. the only thing they understand is brute and deadly force, which is what it took to take out the Nazis. Total war and unconditional surrender. And the only way the Nazis stayed dead was we’ve been occupying their country in the form of military bases ever since, and made sure their political system reflected a method to avoid dictatorships from ever happening again. Seems like Washington D.C. hasn’t figured that out again, and Afghanistan will become a place to train terrorists once again and all those U.S. forces that have died in the middle east (including the son of a close family friend) will have truly died in vain. Pathetic and tragic, at the same time. Madness run rampant, and deep, among the political classes, and the citizens pay the price in blood and treasure.
