Five Months Later, EPA Still Hasn’t Complied With Congressional Subpoena

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has still not complied with a subpoena issued August 1, 2013 by the House Science, Space and Technology Committee seeking the scientific foundation of virtually every Clean Air Act regulation the agency has issued.

The subpoena demanded that EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy hand over data from two decades-old taxpayer-funded studies as the agency moves towards the adoption of strict new ozone standards that could cost the U.S. economy $90 billion annually—which would make them the most expensive regulations in U.S. history.

The subpoenaed data is cited as the scientific basis for EPA’s claim that microscopic airborne particles kill thousands of Americans each year, and to justify its regulatory regime. However, a recent independent study by biostatistician Steve Milloy found “no statistical correlation” between air quality and deaths in California. …

Lawlessness.

Hey, remember when the Bush administration ignored congressional demands and the media never reported it? Neither do I.

Congress has shown itself to be toothless. There are no consequences for Obama to refuse or simply stall or ignore Congressional subpoenas.

Pretty sure there’s been no concerted effort on the part of the white house and the “lyin’ king” to have these people ignore such requests. Maybe just an implied hint/suggestion maybe. NOT!

Why should they comply? Nothing will be done if they don’t. I wouldn’t either if I were the EPA.

The Sgt-At-Arms is empowered to make arrests for anyone in contempt of Congress. Send him into this guy’s workplace and place him under arrest in front of the employees.

Enough of this bread and circuses. If these guys are unable or unwilling to do this, they should resign and let someone in who REALLY takes his oath seriously.

Until then, all we have is a bunch of unemployable jerks collecting fat paychecks to enrich themselves.

Why should they respond?

The EXEMPT and hated US Congress does not care
about the American people unless THEY make
more money, get more whores, or more drugs.

They are disgusting to have watched — and profited —
from the destruction of America.

The EPA, the Holder Justice Department, the entire Obama Administration, the IRS, the entire DC establishment, etc., etc., etc. -— UTTERLY & COMPLETELY LAWLESS and therefore illegitimate.

"There are no scientific studies"

Sure there are, it works like this: You have your NOx coming out of the tailpipe or the smoke stack and the VOCs such as solvents evaporating from paints and inks and these two will react in the presence of sunlight(photochemical reaction) to produce ozone. Like any organic chemical reaction, the rate of the reaction doubles for each 10 degrees the temperature rises.

During the dog days of summer in Dallas the days are long and hot and there is no wind. The big brown cloud forms over the 6 county area and you hope and pray a southerly breeze will come up and blow all that shit up in to Oklahoma

I remember visiting LA in summer 73. Smog was nasty, that stuff really did affect your breathing.

LA is in a basin so it collects there.

I was an industrial chemist and my employer transferred to their LA plant in '72.

At that time the federal clean air act hadn't taken effect but CA had implemented air quality standards before the feds. I still remember the state reg, Rule 66.

Why should they comply? Congress is a paper tiger. Besides, their boss runs the DOJ and the IRS and he has proven more than willing and able to use them to punish his political enemies.

We are dealing with a rapidly expanding tyranny in Washington D.C. and NOBODY seems to have the ability or the b@lls to stop it.

Our government is rapidly becoming what our ancestors fled their homelands to escape and our Founding Fathers revolted against.

So, what is next as the EPA continues to trample all over everybody and do whatever the hell they feel like doing?
