You are right. The human eye is drawn to movement. Running gets you noticed. Granted, it is a more difficult shot but... If there is cover (soft) or good cover (hard) available, take it...and be prepared to fight if you are discovered. Draw and prepare your weapon to fire... Oh, wait, that's right. This is yet another idiotic "gun free zone" that why goooollly, turned out not to be "gun free" did it? Seems "gun free zone" signs only keep the law-abiding from bringing defensive firearms. Criminals bent on breaking numerous laws and causing harm and death to people don't seem to be phased by such signs...maybe even attracted by them.

I hope a few dozen people sue the mall management for criminal negligence in forcing them to be disarmed. Send them into bankruptcy and maybe the new management will re-open with more sane policies.

Those gun free signs are never posted where I can see them..... DARN! I only abide by signs I can see easily! And if I do see such a sign I take my business elsewhere.

Arm yourself, take the shot if and when the opportunity presents itself. If you have to stop and think first before dropping a dirt bag with a gun, you are dead already!

The government has most Americans so afraid to even touch a firearm, they pass out at the sight of a firearm, they become fodder for any whack-job with a firearm hell bent of murder!

More Americans need to train with a firearm of their choice daily. Use a combat training situation, practice makes perfect. Train under pressure, the same pressure you would be under in any mass shooting incident an American may find themselves in.

Howard County is generally one of the safest counties in the USA. It has about 250,000 people and about 2 murders a year.

Howard County may also have one of the largest police forces per capita in the country. They will ticket you for anything especially speeding but also for littering or jaywalking.

And if you drive through Howard county, you will find it remarkably litter free.
