"Civitas Media never had any plans or intentions of publishing in print or online lists of holders of conceal and carry..."
Very fast post...beat me to it. Nathan Dahm is a fine State Rep and his future is looking very bright.
In Texas, a lawsuit will be the least of Civitas Media’s worries!!
Maybe a GOP leader elite could find a pair and make a public statement about this?
There should be thousands of lawsuits. Definite privacy and safety lines that would be crossed.
Articles on the Journal News caving after the predictable gun owner (many of whom are probably liberals) outcry:

Civitas Media never had any plans or intentions of publishing in print or online lists of holders of conceal and carry permits. Nor will Civitas Media develop databases of permit holders. A poorly crafted internal memo meant to highlight editorial discussions and planning incorrectly indicated that such a database was being planned; it has been considered and rejected.

If true, definitely the appearance of malicious intent.
I thought it was strange that these people would plant figurative bull’s-eyes on their backs, given the backlash over Gannett’s Journal News initiative.
If the left ever gets serious about this, they'll set up a corporation to do it having virtually no assets.
I am conflicted, I feel like you do but part of me hopes they include my photo so every Obama voter bent on crime, violence and theft will avoid me at all costs and victimize a unarmed democrat.
Stop Getting Permits!!
I've never been asked for mine.
It probably would not be too difficult to crowdsource a state by state map of the home addresses and personal details of the top executives and editors of every paper in the country.
Most of the company’s publications are rural daily and weekly newspapers in the South and Midwest. Most of their readers would have a harsh response. I’m sure those papers are already hearing from angry subscriber.
Civitas Media, according to its website, employs more than 1,400 people and publishes 35 daily and 63 weekly publications for a combined circulation of more than 1.6 million.
can we say database?
Once Obamacare is well up and running someone will hack the records and we’ll have an abortion and rape victim database...the stupefied masses will find it certainly more selatiuos than the concealed carry database. Just wait.
