"Whatever. Everyone needs to move on. He apologized so leave it at that. "

First, he did not apologize. Read the multiple articles. He was attempting to rationalize his behavior. Thousands of words explaining this and that, when two words would have sufficed -- "I'm sorry."

No one is stupid enough to believe that his statement, "things could have been worded better" is equivalent to an apology.

If he truly apologized for then it WOULD be over.

But now he's blaming racists for calling him a thug, instead of admitting that he DID act like a thug. He's hurt because people are saying he reverted to his inner-city, Compton roots. Well, HE DID.

If I were Sherman, I'd be gracious rather than accusatory. I'd cut my hair. And I'd take some training in how to be a gentleman over the offseason so he can truly leave the thug-bred-in-Compton roots behind and act like a Stanford gentleman.

So when I ride my HD to work and wear my chaps and leather jacket and I would walk into my office it was okay for the elderly finance gal to call me a thug regardless of the fact that I am a college graduate and professional engineer?

You’re correct. He didn’t apologize. Because he has absolutely nothing for which to apologize.

I remember another football intellectual who graduated from a fine university, and later was unjustly accused of double murder, his writings were exposed and he turned out to be illiterate. I think his name was O.J. Simpson.

He has nothing to apologize for. Crabtree had been saying Sherman wasn’t a good CB, Sherman shut him down, and had a nice little rant with no profanity in it after the game. Crabtree’s mouth wrote a check, he failed, Sherman got to rub it in his face, if Crabtree doesn’t like it he should have caught more passes. Sherman didn’t act like a thug, he acted like a guy who just kicked the crap out of a critic.
