I am thinking that perhaps Ukraine may need to split up.

But even if that happens, The Crimea is going to be a huge point of contention even if both sides agree to a split.

Oh, you ain’t kiddin’! There are now reports that hundreds of people are marching on the regional capital at Sumy - that’s in Eastern Ukraine, right on Russia’s front doorstep.

Yanukovych is losing control of the situation fairly quickly; the death knell would be if the Ukrainian Army sides with the protestors against the riot police.

The worst case scenario is if half the army sides with protesters, while the other half sides with the central government.

Then it’s civil war.
