Widow tells ‘GMA’: Put theater shooter in prison for life
The Tampa Tribune ^ | January 23, 2014 | Rick Mayer

Posted on 01/23/2014 8:42:56 AM PST by 4Runner

Nicole Oulson told a national television audience today that she wants Curtis Reeves, the man accused of killing her husband in a Wesley Chapel movie theater, to spend the rest of his life in prison.

“He brought an unfair life sentence to me to have to raise my daughter alone, to have to live without the love of my life, for my daughter to grow up without her daddy by her side for graduation and marriage,” Oulson said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “It was so unnecessary, it was for no reason. So I want him behind bars and to be punished for his senseless act.

The guy shot a guy who was standing after berating the man for notifying management about the texting.

It wasn’t a clean shot. It wasn’t a justified shot.

But he wasn’t shot for texting. He was shot for being a beligerant dumbass.

OK Second attempt to make a point you seem to want to miss...

I have children, 4 of them. The never talked that way. It sounds made up. It does not sound like ‘normal’ babytalk.

Doesn’t it to you? Did any of your child ever refer to themselves in the third-person? or say “Me happy too”

That’s more like tarzan and jane english.

My point is about the mother- not the children - it sounds like the mother is making it up, to me.

Is there ANY CHANCE that the popcorn was not the end of it and the shooter had reason to think he was about to be punched?

Just discussing here but what if the victim threatened the shooter? The shooter pulls the gun and the victim tells him he’s going to shove the gun up his ass and moves toward him?

Me too... does anyone know if “The Bieb” is out of jail yet? I hope he is OK.

I am hoping for a new TV show called “Leave it to Beiber”

You can’t shoot and kill someone for throwing popcorn on you.

We were told last year that you couldn't shoot and kill someone who was only armed with Skittles(TM).

A woman just got beat down, sent into a coma, and had the plug pulled. Why? Because she accidently walked into someone's cellphone photo.

Users of the electronic pacifier are a self-centered lot.

Maybe some other citizens will step forward to tell tales of how the shooting victim hassled them over something or another.

The guys at Legal Insurrection had the best coverage to be found on the Zimmerman trial.

Self Defense expert Andrew Branca looked at the SYG aspect of this theater shooting a few days ago...

(it’s worth reading the comment section. These guys follow up their articles and answer questions.)

Baring actual physical harm one does not have the right to shoot using the expectation of harm. Florida has the “stand your ground defense” if he could show good reason it is doubtful he would have been arrested and refused bail. It is quite possible he said something to the first responders that sunk his case for self defense. This happens often!!!

Meanwhile here’s a clue for those under 55:

When you just must call or text in a darkened theatre because your kid is sick, your stocks may go up or down, your friends are late or you just must do so, go into the hallway or lobby.

If you are CCW, you are not to be the manners police going around menacing and correcting people

I agree. But it’s at least possible that the shooter tried to do the right thing by contacting the manager and was provoked by the victim upon returning to his seat. Still doesn’t justify the shooting but it seems the shooters primary sin here is that he was an ex-cop.

What “odds” are you talking about? Jimmy the Greek’s? I am well aware of the military service of the deceased. What does that have to do with him being or not being a bad boy or a hothead? Wouldn’t it be a wonderful world if all it took was service in the military to automatically cure everyone of their personal defects!
