Then again, maybe I'm being too cynical about The Year of Action.
"Mo-om! I can't print my socks! "
Cut it off at her fingertips, why waste the fabric or work!!!
Beg to differ. Our technological advances are not nearly enough to make up for even a fraction of the decaying world and social mess we are trapped in. We need a thousand times more technological advances before that happens.
Two separate issues. They may be “printing” human organs before 2015 gets here. That’s almost a miracle, or do you disagree?
The first 3D printed organ — a liver — is expected in 2014

Nope, still not good enough for me, it is an improvement, but we still need even more technological advances before it can make up for the decaying and soul crushing times we live in.
Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities
How it goes for me: It was the worst of times, it was the absolute worst of times, it was the age of foolishness, it was the age of ignorance, it was the epoch of narcissism, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Darkness, it was the season of Despair, it was the spring of doom, it was the winter of imprisonment, we had everything against us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to the 5th level of Hell, we were all going direct to the Ninth level...
Man, go take a walk and clear your head, you’re starting to depress me and I almost never get down. Are we under a tyrannical regime? I think so, but remember, that’s the form of government that most people have ALWAYS lived under since we came out of the caves. A representative republic (”democracy” which is actually inaccurate) is a very rare thing. Kings, dictators, strongmen, oligarchies, emperors, theocracies are the norm, not the exception. People live through them.
Suddenly, “Star Trek” doesn’t seem so incredible. Soon we’ll be pushing buttons to make food appear.

Remember the Tower of Babel
Printing an organ is akin to the Tower of Babel? Should we go back to the medicine of three thousand years ago?
I love FR.
Say what?
God gon’t like people getting too (physically) close to Him
