My nephew and his wife had their little girl a little earlier in gestation than yours, in apparently the same year. She was in ICU for about 3 months as well, and it was touch and go, but she’s a happy healthy 8 yr. old, and, despite the belief that preemies will have serious learning disabilities, the only problem she seems to have in school is reading comprehension.
Wow. Glad that she made it.
We were around the NICU alot so we had the unfortunate experience of seeing a couple little ones passing away because they just had too many problems to overcome. It was a very emotional 3 months.
We also worried about whether she would have any learning disabilities but she has overcame a few early speedbumps to be a very smart little girl.
