As the nation celebrates the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King today, advocates for illegal aliens have attempted to hijack the legacy of MLK to support their push for amnesty.
Janet Murguia of the National Council of La Raza (The Race), speaking at the Realize the Dream March and Rally last year said, We march so that everyone knows that true justice must include enacting comprehensive immigration reform. Murguia said Hispanics knew Martin Luther King was talking to us when they listened to Kings speech.
Clarissa Martinez de Castro, the director of immigration policy for the La Raza, said that the effort to push through amnesty for tens of millions of illegal lawbreakers was equivalent to American citizen Blacks struggle for full civil rights. At the core, we are talking about the same thing, said de Castro, This is a conversation about the value of a person. It was the core of the conversation then, and it is the core of the conversation now.
Most outrageously, on MSNBC Wednesday, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, regarded as a rising star by the Democratic Party, compared the status of illegal immigrants in America to that of black slaves before the Civil War.
But according to a man who was closer to Martin Luther King Jr. than perhaps any other person, the La Raza goons are full of bunk.

I am conviced [sic] that capitalism has seen its best days in American [sic], and not only in America, but in the entire world. It is a well known fact that no social institute [sic] can survive when it has outlived its usefullness [sic]. This, capitalism has done. It has failed to meet the needs of the masses. We need only to look at the underlying developements [sic] of our society. There is a definite revolt by, what Marx calls, the preletarian, [sic] against the bourgeoise [sic]
. What will eventually happen is this, labor will become so power [sic] (this was certainly evidenced in the recent election) that she will be able to place a president in the White House. This will inevitably bring about a nationalization of industry. That will be the end of capitalism. . . there is a definite move away from capitalism, whether we conceive of it as conscious or unconscious Capitalism finds herself like a losing football team in the last quarter trying types of tactics to survive.
Martin King wrote this drivel at a time when communist totalitarians were condemning billions of people to lives of poverty, mediocrity and fear. The FBI had good reason to be concerned that someone who was so foolish as to embrace the false promise of Marxism might become the charismatic leader of millions of poorly educated and discontented black folks. Martin King was forever prattling about an imagined link between the needs of American blacks and the anti-colonial struggles of people in the Third World. King surrounded himself with dedicated Communists. Kings advisor Hunter Pitts (Jack) ODell was a veteran Communist Party organizer in New Orleans. Martin Kings advisor Stanley Levison was a financier for the Communist Party. Kings most trusted advisor and strategist Bayard Rustin began his activism with the Young Communist League.

It is a hijacking of the civil rights movement.
Mexican is not a race. It’s a nationality, and it’s dominated by White Spaniards...men from Spain.
Last time I checked, that’s Europe.
And people crossing into the United States against the law did not do so in chains, unlike the people they are trying to coat tail on.
They did it of their own free will, and they knew it was against the law. Of another country, and another people.
Invasion is not a civil right, and illegal aliens are not a race.

There are many in this country particularily among African Americans & Hispanics who embrace citizenship for illegals even though facts prove that a large percentage of the jobs they will steal are jobs that previously went to Black & Hispanic teens especially in the construction industry.
Another reason they support illegals is their excitement about the coming supposed 'browning' of America.
They may be interested to know that while this country was focused on Hispanic illegals entering the US-in East coast cities like NY the largest groups entering this country illegally are Russians, Russian & Ukrainian Jews, Irish and eastern Europeans followed by illegals from the Caribbean. My nephew works for Immigration Enforcement and he claims that in the coming years European (or to be blunt) Caucasian illegals will easily surpass the numbers of Hispanics entering this nation. So those liberals who's hearts are all aflutter at their dreams of the US becoming a country where Caucasians will be a minority would do well to think again because it's entirely possible that the make-up of people in this country will not be to their liking in the future.

Bought a copy of the local fishwrap, first time in months. In it was an “editorial” claiming that all of us who take Dr. King at his word and push for a colorblind society just misunderstood him, and that he would be in favor of affirmative action and special status for minorities. Just another affirmation of my decision to quit subscribing to the liberal rag.

"...in East coast cities like NY the largest groups entering this country illegally are Russians, Russian & Ukrainian Jews, Irish and eastern Europeans followed by illegals from the Caribbean..." Have not seen this info in any news, blog, etc...Assuming it is so, one question I would have is about the religious makeup of the "Russians". We don't need commie moslems replacing the current influx of commie hispanics.
Der Fuhrer is sneaky enough to let thousands of moslem terrorists in from Syria/middle east, all the while bringing a couple hundred thousand in from Russia (as "Russians") Jabbing with his left, sucker-punching us with his right.
