Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the current “schism” in the state Republican party is a smaller version of the split causing so much damage in Washington, D.C., and that “conservative Republicans … have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

If we can get the rest of NY STATE to get rid of NY CITY, we`ll be much better off.
How is it legal for one city to control a whole state?!!

” … You’re seeing that play out in New York. … The Republican Party candidates are running against the SAFE Act — it was voted for by moderate Republicans who run the Senate! Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”
I say again FUAC.
This is one time I tend to agree with Cuomo. I would leave.
That is EXACTLY what is going on here.
There is no example in all human history wherein after a government demonizes a segment of their population that such segment is eliminated by various means by the rulers who demonized them.
Most Americans have no clue what is about to happen to us.
And as long as the EBT Cards continue to work, nor do they care.

So Cuomo defines who New Yorkers are? Outside NYC there are a lot of conservatives. They ought to leave the state that is controlled by the cess pool known as NYC.
By the time they do care, it will be too late.
Sadly the only thing most of Americans will care about, is filling their bellies and their comforts.
People will sell their relatives out for a mere promise of bread when misery and hunger take a population, or fear is rampant in a totalitarian society.
They’ll find out.
Unlike the European Jews who allowed themselves to be rounded up, marched into cattle cars and bearded into camps, there are a LOT of Conservatives who won’t go quietly.
And have the ability to put up a fight and die on their feet, not on their knees.
I don’t think Liberals understand that. Or the consequences of trying to force conservative leaning law enforcement and a conservative leaning military into carrying it out.

Just as DC is its own political territory outside of the jurisdiction of any state, so ought all cities be so designated. They can all be under federal control and federal law.
The rest of every state would be under the exclusive jurisdiction of that state and not beholden to federal control whatsoever.

When a ruling class of a society demonizes a segment of their population as criminals terrorists or rebels there is no EXCEPTION to the history of that segment being eliminated by the same ruling class.
I would happily allow Lower New York State, in all its liberal and elitist glory, leave the Union, if it would only promise to pay its share on the federal debt. I won’t hold my breath because that socialist Utopia needs the money from others to enjoy what “lifestyle” it has.
Yep (upstate rural suburbia).
The public schools as run under the NYS Regent System were of high quality. The township handled the roads fine.
Kidz could run around miles from home all day in the summer without risk ('cept from dogs, low rural road traffic, Limestone cliffs, old quarries, etc.).
Skiing was at your own risk, medical expenses were paid out of pocket, takers were few, getting into an outta Canada was no big deal.
Summers could'a been warmer along with local water temperatures, but the countryside looked just right and power outages were few and short.
I kind of like that idea.
