I have extended family on the “in-law” side that I am embarrassed about (who doesn’t, right?). They are useless leeches... drug users, unemployed and unemployable, collecting “entitlements”, stealing prescriptions from family, living with family sympathizers, etc. They regularly post on FB to keep us updated on the depravity and shame. They bred recently and introduced another weapon to threaten grandparents with. They cause a lot of misery.

I found a silver lining that surprised me, however. They moved to Illinois 18 months ago (I didn’t know) and have been collecting IL subsidies! Woo Hoo! They are somebody else’s welfare case.

So I found something else that Illinois is doing to make Indiana better. Apparently, it’s more lucrative to be poor in Illinois than in Indiana.

You nailed what is perceived as one of this country’s biggest attributes: having the freedom to be where one chooses to live.

We need to keep the structure the forefathers envisioned for this country.

We are not so much a nation of states than a collection of individual states which choose to defend themselves, that align together on a federal level under the auspices of a Constitution which spells out ONLY those activities for the federal govt to address, not vice versa. States have been giving up their rights to the federal govt for years.

As long as things like welfare, taxes, abortion rights, gay marriage, etc. remain on the state level, we as a country will be fine.

Let me elucidate: Those states which choose to continue the existing spiralling-out-of-control welfare will see a flock of new citizens arriving in their state eager for the goodies, and an exit to other states of those who are productive. Soon those states stupid enough to keep these actions up(e.g. - California) will be forced to change their ways as there citizenship goes to pot and they go hopelessly into debt.

With the control of welfare in the hands of the feds, there are little alternatives available for the common man other than the difficult choice to leave the country.

That is why states rights, fought hard by the Confederacy, was so important for the national well-being.

We have been going downward ever since.

So let the Illinios and the Massachusetts go down the path they are going. We should instead spend our energies to fight hard against the intrusion of the feds into states’ sovereignty.
