Compromise to them is like slicing your hand away one joint at a time. They don't grow back.

The point is not that conservatives can't get elected (except in places like Massachusetts), but that flaky conservatives can't get elected. Not only Akin, Angle and O'Donnell prove that point, but also Katherine Harris and Mourdock.

The establishment’s argument is based on three things: 1) Rep. Todd Akin (MO),

the establishment wasn’t really concerned about Akin until big mouth liberal Willard started screeching that Akin might hurt his wee chances to be the big Kahuna..

Willard blew it all out of proportion and killed any chance Akin had...

Not many people are willing to go up against a well-established GOPe incumbent.

Consequently, the one who is willing is likely to be inexperienced, and is going to put foot in mouth from time to time. And even if they don’t, a flood of attacks will be launched by establishment Repubs, and none of the usual establishment sources of money will be available. You will have Rove badmouthing them on Hannity all month long. They will be made a laughing stock, even if they don’t make any mistakes, which its guaranteed that being rookies, they will.

You have to decide, how badly to you want to get rid of the GOPe incumbent and are you going to be swayed by what Fox and CNN say about them.

Karl Rove has no more understanding of the TEA Party movement than does Howard Dean, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz or John McCain and for the very same reasons.

I could also say that this would apply to such “pseudo-conservatives” like Senator John Cornyn and Lindsey Graham.

The tea party and Palin was against Akin, he was Michelle Bachmann’s baby.

Palin didn’t endorse Angle in the primary, in fact Palin’s dad endorsed someone else.

Funny, I recently wrote my GOP) Rep. I said unless you get a TPP endorsement, I will vote against you in the primary. I have some rumor and hearsay about him. He votes GOP lately (immigration stuff etc.). When it is evident RYAN is BSing us, I laced into him for voting for the budget, sic Obama care. His perception of his office is tat he is king because the GOP owes him on fundraising. I stopped contributing to the GOP and strictly contribute to the TPP.

Well I won’t ramble, nor will I vote Dem; but without a TPP endorsement, I will not vote for him. Sounds like a lot of folks have the same idea. JMO

In 2010, the GOP establishment lost winnable seats in California, with Carly Fiorina ...

California? Doubtful.

So tired of people atacking Akin, Angle, O’Donnell. Anyone still attacking those folks are not Conservative...and never were Conservative in the first place

The outright sandbagging of Akin by PhonyCon Liberals still sickens me to this day. Real Conservatives stood with Akin ater he apologized for his comments....the Pansy-Assed RINOs kept whining with the Liberal Media

Time to crush the Liberal PhonyCons. Voting for a non-conservative GOP is just voting liberal

Setting aside the conceit that these interests know better than voters ...

NO, it must not be 'set aside'... Lots of countries ruled by 'elites' and all of them are crap... Our country wouldn't be any different.

Command economies don't work - command political systems don't work. It degrades into elites looking out for themselves... every time.
