and it’ll work because of the conversion of many members of the electorate into brilliant, intellectual, Progressive geniuses.

The left has "nuanced" their own message. By the use of an an always looming danger, a tyrannical government can always impose whatever laws they want, for as long a time as convenient to them. There won't be any one catastrophe...but a series of them, always potentially out there, in another month, or in another decade.

When the coming new ice age and acid rain died in their infancy of self-inflicted, unverifiable hubris; global warming, climate change and now climate collapse were inevitable heirs of the pseudo-science of the Left.
They should change the name of “Climate Change” to “Irritable Climate Syndrome.”
Climate change is not a lie. 12kYa there were two miles of ice on top of my land. 10kYa the Sunda Shelf was populated land. 7kYa there were farms in the Sahara region. The Domesday Book records wine vineyards in Scotland only 1kYa ago.
The climate has changed, drastically and dramatically, and it has done so over and over and over, causing extinctions, mass population movements, and likely even breeding smart humans in Europe and East Asia.
What IS a lie, and a terrible one at tha since it dissolves the foundation of science, is that anthropogenic CO2 plays a role in these unexplained changes. Zombie science started with peer reviewed Federal grant money, but "climate science" has spread the infection rapidly, so that many if not most scientists are now shambling over the landscape, moaning and feeding on grant money and the approval of politicians.
We can snark but the average millennial knows more about “climate change” than the US Constitution.
As long as it’s taught intensively in schools, the belief will continue to spread.
