Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus says a traffic jam scandal won’t disqualify New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie from running for president.

Appearing Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Priebus says Republican primary voters could move past the scandal that has ensnared the administration as polls show Christie as a top contender in 2016. …

He can run. But he cannot hide.

I won't be able to move past his anti-2nd amendment ways. Sorry, no sale.

He can run—any one can. David Duke can run—BUT he will not win any primary unless the Democrats put him in! The Fat Man is out! Stick a fork in him—he’s done.

It’s amazing. Priebus did such a great job in Wisconsin... and then he became a total f***-up once he got the national chairmanship (and he was STILL reelected !).

I think it’s the Marines who say ‘he can run... but he’ll just die tired.’

Does anyone else wonder whether the Bushes have been enabling, the media on this?

This seems very odd to me.

Maybe I just don’t understand.

This guy has essentially become “Reince and repeat to me.”

I’m so glad to hear Christie might have a chance at the nomination. /s

How can Reince be so freaking out of touch with the rank and file of his party?

I agree. My thoughts on this were formed far prior to this latest blow-up though.

If not for what’s happened, Christie would be out promoting amnesty and doing even more damage to his ambitions.

Wow! He’s right! .....It’s Christie’s liberal leanings toward amnesty, gun control and big gov’t. (like Jeb Bush) that will not permit him to win the Conservative votes.

The polls being touted about Christie must be limited to the Northeast and Northern Midwest States, because I don’t believe he can do squat in the South or flyover States. ...Guiliani suffered the same fate in his “run”.

Hey, Reince, how about we run a conservative this time?

Your base won't tolerate being taken for granted and laughed at much longer.

“Priebus did such a great job in Wisconsin...”

Doing what? Walker is a star, but I have never understood from under what rock Priebus came. I mean he’s marginally better than his predecessor, but that isn’t saying a whole lot.

He appeared to be one of our better state chairs, presiding over the resurgence of the WI party for its greatest success since the ‘80s (sweep of the legislature, Governorship, Senate seat, majority of the Congressional delegation and all but 1 statewide office). I expected him to be an above-average chairman nationally, but he turned out a disaster. That he was reelected, indeed rewarding his failure, shows how totally out of touch the establishment is from the base.
