McAuliffe is playing a very smart game right now re Virginia. He is appointing some moderate Democrats and a few Republicans to his cabinet, transition team, etc.
He could be laying, as you suggest, a pathway of “moderation” for Hillary’s run in 2016.
However, McAuliffe wasn’t called “the thug” or “the punk” for nothing. He was and apparently still is Bill and Hillary’s “thug with a smile”. He can’t be changing into an honest moderate, only his appearance as one.
Virginia is a key swing state and if it weren’t for the betrayal of Cuccinelli by Karl Rove and the GOP establishment, Cucc could have won by having more money to get the “stay at home” club off their asses and into the voting booths.
My daughter worked on his campaign (and so did my 8 year old granddaughter - making calls on his behalf). What my daughter found was an almost total lack of support for Cuccinelli by the GOP establishment, including a lack of funding for the key northern Virginia geographic area.
The Libertarians betrayed the conservatives and they will pay for their treason and stupidity. It was the amount of votes that they got which made the difference in McAuliffe’s win.
So too was the turncoat actions of the Republican mayor of Virginia Beach and I believe, Hampton, VA., plus the defection of a few other GOP former leaders.
Benedict Arnold would have been proud of them.
However, Obamacare and the attack on the coal industry/energy industry in general, is going to hurt Sen. Warner (D-Va) in retaining his seat, as well as some of McAulliffe’s expected environmental programs.
He is keeping a sharp eye on next-door West Virginia and the coming defeat of Sen. Manchin (D-WV) over the energy issue. Unemployment is rising there and there is some overlap into Virginia and Maryland in the coal regions.
Hillary’s fiascos concerning Libya and even Syria are not going unnoticed by the reasonably educated retired military and diplomats in northern Virgina, as well as among the lower echelon troops. (My son was one of the first American soldiers to go into Iraq in March 2003. I did have a “dog in this fight” and I’m watching the Democrats from Obama, Panetta, Hagel, Kerry and Clinton, piss on the graves of our fallen.
This is going to be an issue, PERIOD.
Don’t be surprised if retired Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va) doesn’t come out against Hillary and her bunch of traitors. Stranger things have happened.
Also, the financial fiascos of Maryland and its’ marxist Governor O’Malley (Healthcare exchanges, unemployment, high crime in Baltimore, declining seafood industry, attacks on the energy industry, etc), are getting a lot of media attention, even in the Washington Post of all places.
Remember, the congressional elections are less than 11 months away, and the economy sucks like a two bit whore despite the fudging by the Obama administration whoremongering propaganda people. It is a scandal that might explode in both Obama and Hillary’s face.
Gov. Christie’s problems are a sideshow but the network news media will make it into Armageddon if we let them. And that is where we must keep the heat on the stories of Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Al Qaeda, Fast & Furious, the IRS scandals, and other scandals from Obamacare on down to what the Dept of Interior is pulling re land leases, wild animals, horse slaughtering, closing off rodes to peoples’ homes/communities, and the upcoming assault on diesel-fuels engines of planes, trains, ships and heavy equipment.
Hillary doesn’t want to inherit this and may strike a pose of “clean government” to disavow the Obama marxist programs and corruption.
Our job is to sink both of these bastards, like submarines lurking in the deep, striking a target when it appears, and shooting the survivors.
I was part of the group that put a torpedo up John Kerry’s presidential ambitions ass. We did it with excellent research, organization, coordination, publicity despite the Mainstream media/audio/visual/print’s blacklisting of our book “Unfit for Command”, their smear campaign against those of us involved in the effort to tell the truth about Kerry, and their refusal to print the truth even when they knew it to be true.
Believe me, this same approach is now being adopted all across the country, including in Virginia, to sight, sink and destroy the Democrats and their marxist/liberal cretin supporters. Some we hope to put in jail for their crimes despite the absolute refusal of the Dept. of Justice to investigate and indict obvious kickback schemes that have cost the taxpayers BILLIONS of dollars(Solyndra was $650 MILLION alone). GM cost the taxpayers and some stockholders $10 BILLION.
And the crookedness costs keep going on like the words of a Sonny and Cher song (The Beat Goes On). Only this time the title is “The Crookedness Goes On”.
McAuliffe should have been indicted for his role in the environmental car industry fraud, but there could be some more skeletons in his closet. If so, he won’t be much help to Hillary from jail. We can only wish and work for it.
However, we must organize, research and keep the heat on any Democrat of importance because after 40+ years in the political arena (mainly as a reporter/journalist/researcher), I have never seen such criminal activity/corruption and unethical, morally degenerate behavior on the part of the Dems as I see today.
Our jails aren’t half fill so our sworn, patriotic duty is to fill them up to overflowing with the Obamites, the Clintonistas, and the Crony Capitalism Crooks that go with the Democrat Party.
See you on the firing lines, friends. Stock up on political research ammo, then lock, load, aim and fire. This time, the Minutemen are going to use the heavy stuff to take out the enemy. The crooked bastards and traitors are going down.
The Left has awoken “a sleeping giant” in American patriots, and just as the British and the Japanese learned about awakening us, so too the Democrats will now feel the wrath of decent Americans.
