So the study asked particpants about weed, booze and other drug use, but the linked article correlated only to the use of pot.

Seems booze and other drugs might be a couple of relatively important variables to look into.

As would history of mental illness in the families of the participants.

Maybe it’s in the study and just not mentioned in the article?

That probably found more long term chronic heavy pot users to report on than long term chronic heavy alcohol users, because the pot users were still alive.
